Hello everyone
This is from Care epilepsy.
Volunteers are needed for our program to raise awareness about epilepsy.
We will conduct a community-based awareness-building campaign in four sub-cities—Gulele, Addis Ketma, Nefas Selk, and Akaki sub-sites—in the upcoming weeks.
So, we warmly welcome you to participate in this program as a volunteer. There will be an orientation session, the date for which has not yet been determined.
The ideal method to give back to the community is through volunteering.
Thank you!
Anyone who wants to register or has any questions or concerns contact @Bezbel or @Anayilos_M
PS. Certification will be provided!

Dr. Mahlet, Congratulations!

A courageous Physician Women has been recognized as the heroine of the year at the 17th TRAC Annual TB Research conference held in Gondar. The woman goes by the name, Dr. Mahelet Tesfaye, has been doing marvelous professional deed for her country and cherished citizenry. Following the untold responsibility she has effectively discharged, Dr. Mahelet is well acknowledged and demonstratively bestowed.

She received an award for her great commitment in due course of saving the lives of two Pre-XDR TB and DR -TB patients with complications; this is quite extraordinary achievement.

Dr. Mahelet, a cardiothoracic surgeon, has provided two young patients—coming from Butajira and Jimma towns—who have been suffering from drug resistant TB for years, with bright hope.

The patient from Jimma had a destroyed bronchestic lung due to DR-TB disease, whereas the one from Butajera has had bacilli multiply inside cavity and contaminate the healthy tissues inside.

The only solution for saving the two patients was recommended lung surgery. Dr. Mahelet conducted the most wanted surgery for her Jimma resident patient. She removed his lung affected tissues, and she removed the Butajira patients bacilli multiply inside cavity and contaminate the healthy tissue as his lung parts were the most affected ones. Ethiopia did rescue the lives of patients. Now, both are in a very good state of health and recovery.

Dr. Mahelet is consultant cardiothoracic surgeon and assistant professor at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital.

She received an award from Health Minister, Dr.Lia Tadesse, for her extraordinary deed and selfless commitment to save the lives of fellow citizens.
