Happy for those who answered Yes to the question above 🤓! Penny Ur in her "100 Teaching Tips" recommends to "limit tasks by time, not amount". To be honest, I overlooked this simple truth until a few days ago. After reading this tip I decided to try it in my classroom and , you know, it worked like magic. The timing of tasks helped the lesson flow and made the students remain on task.
"Your task is to work for ten minutes and do as much as you can" (don't forget the second part 😉!). The instruction given this way can be completed by all members of the class, regardless of level.
