Ideas for using the pictures above 👆
❄️ Memory Test.
Show a picture and then hide it. Then read out statements about the picture and the students answer with true or false.
As a variation of this activity, instead of reading out statements about the pictures, the students write themselves true statements describing the picture. They later compare their statements in pair or group work.
❄️ What’s the story?
Hand the pictures out and ask students to write a paragraph imagining the story behind the photo. Encourage them to get as creative as they can be, and tell them there are no right or wrong answers.
❄️ A picture says a thousand words…
Give one to each of your students and ask them to write a description of what they see. Stick the photos vertically on one side of the board/wall and the descriptions on the other side. Students take turns matching the right description to each photo.
❄️ Partially covered picture
Choose a picture and cover it partially. The students try to guess the things in the covered part.

I spy with my little eye ...
📌 The teacher or student picks a word in the picture (or any object in the room or on the street if you are playing outside the classroom). Then s/he says: "I spy with my little eye...” and gives the first letter of the object as a clue. For example, if the player chooses a snowman, they say, ‘I spy with my little eye something beginning with S’.
📌 Players take turns to call out guesses until someone gets the right answer. The first person to guess correctly gets the next turn to choose an object.
📌 There are many variations on how to describe the hidden object: color , height , weight , geometric features, material
👀 I spy with my little eye ....something that is red.
👀 I spy with my little eye ... something that begins with the letter C
👀 I spy with my little eye ... something that is small and round
👀 I spy with my little eye ... something that is made of wood
The whole group guesses the word.
Instead of the standard "Yes / No", you can say "Hot" or "Cold"
