One of our channel members was kind to share his research findings. You may find the article useful if you have students preparing for IELTS exam. The fact that the research was implemented in Uzbekistan context makes it even more valuable. Thank you Danial so much!!!
Today, I want to tell about one AWESOME 🀩🀩🀩 activity that I did yesterday with my 9th grade students. They found it extremely interesting because each of them had an opportunity to speak. As for me, I liked it for two reasons:
1️⃣ You don't need special preparation for the activity.
2️⃣ It can be adapted for any topic.
The activity is called "Kill the sentence (then bring it back to life)."
I wrote the following sentence on the blackboard: "As a member of this school I will listen when a member of staff is talking to me" (We're doing Unit 4 "School and Community". The sentence is from Activity 2a page 38.) Then I asked one volunteer to choose one word from the sentence and create their own using that word. The sentences can be as simple or as complex as the students choose. They should not be thematically connected with the original sentence. When an acceptable sentence was said correctly by a student, I erased the word from the board and continued with other words until all were gone. Then I asked students to write or say the original sentence from memory.
The activity is flexible and includes a wide range of language aims.

Amazing warm-up idea from MISHKIE - Shave Santa's beard πŸŽ…πŸ½. Santa decided to do his beard before the holidays but if he knew that you are going to be his barber πŸ’‡πŸ˜„πŸ™ƒ...!
πŸŽ…πŸ½ A student comes to the blackboard, tears off a stripe of paper and returns to his/her place to complete the sentence.
πŸŽ…πŸ½ Once the sentence is completed the student reads, the teacher checks. If the sentence is correct, the student can take another piece. If not let him/her think.
πŸŽ…πŸ½ Continue until they are done with all the pieces.
