English for Media Literacy for Educators (EML-E) is an exciting MOOC designed by George Mason University. The course will introduce you to the theory and practice of teaching about media literacy in the English as a foreign language (EFL) classroom. Главной целью Олимпиады является выявление талантливой молодежи, проявляющей интерес к изучению языков и имеющей данные к получению образования в ведущих вузах России, в частности, в Санкт-Петербургском государственном университете. Олимпиада способствует формированию иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции: языковой, речевой, социокультурной, компенсаторной и учебно-познавательной. Олимпиадные задания носят междисциплинарный характер и направлены на выявление у участников Олимпиады широкого комплекса гуманитарных знаний, которые сопряжены с владением иностранными языками.

Олимпиада школьников СПбГУ по иностранному языку непрерывно проводилась с 2003 года по четырем иностранным языкам: английскому, немецкому, испанскому и французскому. С 2022/2023 учебного года Олимпиада проводится по пяти иностранным языкам: английскому, немецкому, испанскому, французскому и китайскому. Уже не первый год Олимпиаде присваивается высший I уровень.
