QUANTUM PHYSICS REVOLUTION
FREEZING LIGHT INTO A SUPERSOLID
Italy-based physicists Antonio Gianfate of CNR Nanotec and Davide Nigro of the University of Pavia have made an exciting discovery by "freezing light" into a supersolid for the first time.
They used a laser and special materials to create light-matter particles that act like both a solid and a superfluid at the same time.
Unlike other supersolids that need extreme cold, this new type of supersolid works under more practical conditions, opening up new possibilities for technology like quantum computers. Paving the way for real-world applications in quantum computing and advanced technology.
