Important Committees in India

Swaran Singh Committee (1976) - It recommended inclusion of Fundamental Duties. (42nd Constitutional Amendment)

Mandal Commission (1979) - It recommended that members of OBCs be given 27% reservations for jobs under the Central government and public sector undertakings. The Committee is headed by BP Mandal.

Sarkaria Commission (1983) - Its charter was to examine the relationship and balance of power between state and central governments. The Commission was headed by Rajinder Singh Sarkaria.

Dinesh Goswami Committee (1990) - It was formed to make recommendations on Electoral  Reforms.

Kelkar committee - The committee was set up by India's central government to study and evaluate the public-private partnership (PPP) model in India and it is headed by Vijay Kelkar.

Malimath Committee Report - The Report deals with Criminal Justice System Reforms. It was constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the chairmanship of Justice V.S. Malimath.
