  ➼  Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya flagged off the  'Fit India Cycling Tuesday' initiative on December 17 in New Delhi.
केंद्रीय मंत्री मनसुख मांडविया ने 17 दिसंबर को नई दिल्ली में ‘फिट इंडिया साइक्लिंग मंगलवार’ पहल को हरी झंडी दिखाई है।

  ➼  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the program on the completion of one year of Rajasthan government in Jaipur on December 17. On this occasion, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 24 projects related to energy, road, railway and water supply costing Rs 46 thousand 300 crore.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 17 दिसंबर को जयपुर में राजस्थान सरकार के एक वर्ष पूरा होने पर कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया।इस अवसर पर 46 हजार 300 करोड़ की लागत वाली ऊर्जा, सड़क, रेलवे और जलापूर्ति से जुड़ी 24 परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन और शिलान्यास किया।

  ➼  Recently, Vietnam's Coast Guard Ship, CSB 8005 has arrived in Kochi to enhance international cooperation between India and Vietnam. Both countries will participate in the  "Sahyog - Hop Tac" exercise to promote cooperation between the armies.

  ➼ National Council of Educational Research and Training – NCERT on December 16 signed an MoU with an e-commerce platform to ensure affordable and seamless availability of NCERT publications across the country.

  ➼  The government has launched the 'Credit Guarantee Scheme for eNWR based Pledge Financing' . Under this scheme, farmers will now be able to get loans through their produce.

  ➼  According to the Education Ministry, the government will develop 620 ' Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas' under the ' PM Shri Yojana' , which aims to strengthen the infrastructure and other facilities in existing schools.

Important Committees in India

Swaran Singh Committee (1976) - It recommended inclusion of Fundamental Duties. (42nd Constitutional Amendment)

Mandal Commission (1979) - It recommended that members of OBCs be given 27% reservations for jobs under the Central government and public sector undertakings. The Committee is headed by BP Mandal.

Sarkaria Commission (1983) - Its charter was to examine the relationship and balance of power between state and central governments. The Commission was headed by Rajinder Singh Sarkaria.

Dinesh Goswami Committee (1990) - It was formed to make recommendations on Electoral  Reforms.

Kelkar committee - The committee was set up by India's central government to study and evaluate the public-private partnership (PPP) model in India and it is headed by Vijay Kelkar.

Malimath Committee Report - The Report deals with Criminal Justice System Reforms. It was constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the chairmanship of Justice V.S. Malimath.
