A new paper by researchers from Bio Protocol and Episteme is now published in Frontiers in Blockchain.

What if science governed itself?
This study explores futarchy, where communities vote on values but bet on beliefs, applied to DeSci.
Using governance data from 13 science DAOs and a counterfactual futarchy simulation on real proposals, the paper finds that futarchyβs predicted outcomes aligned perfectly with the decisions DAO members actually made. In other words, DeSci is already behaving as if itβs futarchic, it just needs the tools to make that logic explicit.
