In this article, our co-founder Sasha Shilina introduces DeScAI, a five-stratum framework for a recursive, self-verifying scientific system. By weaving together decentralized ledgers, incentive protocols, and AI-driven scientific agents, DeScAI proposes a future where:

🟡Hypotheses move to verification with radically reduced latency
🟡Epistemic pluralism becomes structurally supported
🟡Trust is cryptographically auditable

DeScAI shows that this future isn’t speculative — the building blocks already exist. What’s left is orchestration.

What if science governed itself?
This study explores futarchy, where communities vote on values but bet on beliefs, applied to DeSci.

Using governance data from 13 science DAOs and a counterfactual futarchy simulation on real proposals, the paper finds that futarchy’s predicted outcomes aligned perfectly with the decisions DAO members actually made. In other words, DeSci is already behaving as if it’s futarchic, it just needs the tools to make that logic explicit.
