February 23, 1954 | First mass inoculation against polio with the Jonas Salk vaccine takes place at Arsenal Elementary School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Polio (poliomyelitis) is a highly contagious, vaccine-preventable disease caused by the poliovirus, which attacks the nervous system and can cause irreversible paralysis in hours.

February 24, 2020 | Scientists identify the first animal that doesn't need oxygen to breathe: a tiny parasite living in salmon tissue, reported in the journal PNAS.

Henneguya salminicola is a microscopic, multi-cellular cnidarian; a relative of jellyfish and coral; that has evolved to exist without a mitochondrial genome.
This means it does not use aerobic respiration to generate energy, making it an entirely anaerobic animal.

On Sunday, I formally introduced The Genesis Science 1-5 Podcast under the Genesis Science Initiative.

This podcast was created to provide structured and practical first aid education for the general public. The goal is simple: to simplify emergency response knowledge and make it accessible to students, parents, teachers, drivers, and anyone who may one day be the first person present during an emergency.

In Episode 1, we began with a foundational discussion on what first aid truly means, why it is essential for everyone, and the principles that guide safe and responsible intervention before professional medical help arrives. Establishing this foundation is important before moving into specific emergency techniques.

And I was grateful to have been joined by a medical student and certified trained first aider, Mr. George Aryiku, whose insights added practical depth to this conversation.

This episode marks the beginning of a structured series that will cover bleeding, burns, seizures, choking, fractures, and other critical emergency situations in a clear and systematic way.

The recording was conducted via Zoom as part of a remote collaboration
and the subsequent episodes will always be on Sundays.

6174 is one of the best number in mathematics.

Think of any 4-digit number that has at most two different digits (for ex. 1234 is allowed, 2222 is not, as no second digit).

Now arrange the digits in descending order and then again in ascending order giving you two different numbers.

Subtract the smaller number from the larger one.
Repeat steps 2โ€“3 for every result you get after subtraction.

If you do this you will soon get Kaprekarโ€™s constant: 6174.

It doesnโ€™t matter what 4-digit number you start with, youโ€™ll always get to 6174 and then get stuck there because 6174 itself gives you a result of 6174.
