Early Life & Education

Dr. Ama Nyanza was born in Cape Coast, Ghana. From a young age, she was fascinated by how tiny organisms could influence human health. As a teenager, she joined a local science outreach program that allowed her to visit research labs at the University of Cape Coast β€” an experience that shaped the rest of her life.

She excelled in biology and chemistry in high school and earned a scholarship to study Biochemistry at the University of Ghana, Legon.

After graduating with top honors, she received a fellowship to pursue her PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Cambridge, where she focused on genetic markers that make certain populations more vulnerable to viral infections.

STOP Violence Against Women
November 25th
πŸ’―πŸ”₯

Today reminds you of a responsibility that belongs to everyone. Violence against women does not start in public. It often starts in silence, in ignored comments, in normalized disrespect, and in digital spaces where harm hides behind screens.

Digital violence is real. It affects safety, dignity, mental health, and opportunity for women and girls everywhere. Every message shared online builds someone up or tears someone down.

You have a part to play; by choosing respect, correcting false information and refusing to stay silent when harm is done.

Every woman deserves safety and freedom.
Every space, offline or online, must be safe for them.

UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls.
Change begins with the choices you make today, this is just day 1.... Stay tuned.

Day 2
International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
πŸ‘

Digital spaces shape daily life. They shape how women learn, work, speak, and grow. When those spaces are filled with threats, insults, stolen images, fake accounts, or harassment, the damage spreads far beyond the screen.

Digital violence affects confidence, privacy, safety, and mental health. It pushes many women and girls away from opportunities they deserve.

You have the power to help change this.
Choose respect in every message.
Think before you share anything about another person.
Stop harmful content when you see it.
Support victims instead of blaming them.
Report accounts that cause harm.

Every action counts. Every voice matters.
Safety online is everyone’s duty.

Let today again remind you that women and girls deserve dignity in every space, including the digital world. This is just day 2...
