EU vs Greedy company moment
The future of @unzip_edm115bot : for the better (but not so soon)

The journey of this bot is quite incredible. From a simple project to a widely used bot, a year and a half can truly have a big impact.
With time, more features came, along with bugs that needed to be fixed πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
However, I lost motivation, and the last update is a month old.
There are a lot of bugs, and they may not be even fixed before the end of the year 😒
But there's always hope... πŸ₯Ί

Currently, the bot is hosted on Heroku. It always been (because it was free and no one actually did anything else back then). Then, the free tier was gone. I thought it would lead in the bot being offline (like all other ones) but turns out no.
However, we're running into an issue. You see, the bot is growing, to a point where we have 24k users at the time I write this. I would be no surprised to see 30k users on the new year's eve.
But... Heroku is totally not suited for such workload. This results in most of the problems you see : bot unresponsive, huge time to upload/edit/do basic things, and so on...

What's the solution ?
Switch. But switch to who ?
I'm still comparing all solutions out there, and so far Hetzner stands out.
But (there's always an issue), the price isn't totally the same. You see, the current Heroku instance costs me 7$/month. To get the same specs (at least in terms of storage), it'd cost me 37.3$/month. Not a big deal, but I have other costs to assume on my everyday life πŸ₯Ή
Plus a lot of adjustments in the code would be needed to accommodate to the new infrastructure.

Then how ?
Pay. I was sceptical, but you guys are okay with this. So yeah, the paid plan will come eventually (YOU WILL STILL BE ABLE TO USE THE BOT FOR FREE, see it like the paid plans on Spotify or Discord : not mandatory, core features stays free, but adds little features).
But before adding this, I have to fix bugs...

My take on the situation
To have a bot that runs on a stable infrastructure, have a smooth experience for you and make me happy, I have no other choice than starting to work on the bot again. It won't be very soon tho, but yeah it will come eventually.
To speed up the process, if you know how to code and want to contribute, open a PR. pls πŸ™

Feel free to comment on this, I want your opinion. Also I very rarely broadcast a message to all users, but this one is important enough.
Yours truly, EDM115

on compatible apps (here WhatsApp), Gboard can analyse the last sent message to prepare a reply
This follows the same principle as Smart Reply in Messages or Gmail
