Instead of saying “I can’t do this,” I tell myself: “I don’t know this yet, but I’ll learn.”
I repeat this whenever I start something new, it’s a habit I’ll never let go of. I don’t always know everything at first, and that’s okay. What matters is investing my time, staying disciplined, and showing up. That mindset has helped me grow my skills and turn opportunities into results.
I recently had the chance to be part of a panel at ALX Ethiopia with inspiring, driven people. The discussion reminded me how much we can learn from each other and the value of sharing our experiences.
One message that stayed with me was: “Use the opportunity you get, and don’t let self-doubt take it away from you.”
I’ve learned that opportunities don’t always come from applying for jobs. Some of the best ones come simply from sharing what you know and what you do. Talking about your work and putting yourself out there opens doors you didn’t expect. Many opportunities come through word of mouth, someone sees your work, hears about you, and believes in you.
Keep going. Keep learning. Keep building. Keep sharing. and most importantly… be the voice of change 💛.
Don’t be shy to talk about your skills, your experience, your projects, and your story! Who can promote you more than yourself?

Starting a new book this week
The Brain: The Story of You by David Eagleman
Along with the other projects I’m working on, I’m adding this to my routine. It’s about how the brain works and how we think.
Check it out if you’re interested in this kind of book!
Wishing everyone a productive week ahead

Trying to keep up with all these new AI tools lately… feels exactly like when I was trying to learn every new JavaScript framework back in the day 😅
By the time you understand one… there are already new ones waiting for you.
And now with AI?
It’s even crazier, new tools are coming out, every time i checked.
Most of these tools?
They get hyped a lot… then disappear… then new ones come again.
Pick one tool you actually enjoy using.
Learn it well. Use it in real projects.
That’s what really matters.
You can always explore the rest later, when things calm down...
We’ve been here before with frameworks.
We survived that. We may survive this too.

Most beginners think they need to feel ready before they start. That moment doesn’t always come on its own, you create it by starting.
You learn faster by doing things wrong than by waiting to do things perfectly. Build something small, break it, fix it, repeat. That’s the real process.
There will always be someone louder, faster, or more experienced than you. That doesn’t define your path or your pace. If you ever feel like you don’t belong, take it as a sign you’re growing and pushing beyond your comfort zone.
Focus less on watching tutorials all day and more on creating, even if it’s messy. Skills grow from action, not just understanding.
And about social media… people usually share their highlights, not their confusion. Don’t measure your beginning against someone else’s middle.
Keep going, even when it feels slow. Progress is happening, even when it’s quiet.

I just found this app for iPhone users, you can try it. It’s like Duolingo but for coding.
I haven’t checked it in detail yet, just had a quick look at the overall idea, but it looks like a good app for learning code.
It’s called SideMe: Learn Coding.

Your brain doesn’t build habits from motivation.
It builds them from repeated feedback signals.
Dopamine isn’t just “feeling good.”
It’s your brain tracking: “Was this worth repeating?”
Every time you fix a bug, solve a small problem or handle something small in daily life like finishing a task, replying to that message, or getting started on something you were avoiding
your brain logs it as progress.
These small wins train your brain to link effort → reward.
The catch?
Scrolling, quick notifications, and easy distractions
deliver faster, stronger signals.
So your brain starts preferring them over harder but meaningful things
whether that’s coding, studying, or just handling real-life responsibilities.
That’s why discipline isn’t about willpower.
It’s about what you repeatedly signal to your brain.
Small actions.
Real progress.
Repeated daily…
And your brain adapts

Found this Fuelethbot on LinkedIn, might be helpful given the current fuel situation in Addis.
It’s a Telegram bot that shows real-time fuel availability based on community reports. You can also contribute by sharing what you see around you.

One of the most important parts of building a community is sharing: sharing knowledge, opportunities, and celebrating growth.
And these amazing people are doing exactly that
@D4RKH0R5E, @birhan_nega, and @Luna_moonmam are true changemakers, consistently inspiring others, giving back, and creating real impact.
They’ve been nominated for the LinkedIn Changemaker Awards, and it’s well deserved 👏
If you have a moment, check them out, vote for them, and show some support 💙

Started reading Ctrl+Alt+Delete by Mitch Joel
The book explores how the digital world is changing the way we work, learn, and grow.
Education is no longer “finish school → get a job”
It’s now “learn → adapt → relearn → evolve”
Careers are no longer linear they’re constantly evolving.
Job security is being replaced by skill adaptability.
The people who stay curious and keep learning will always stay relevant.
