We are incredibly grateful for the love and support you showed us as we celebrated our wedding in Lagos. Your presence meant the world to us and made our special day even more memorable.

Thank you for traveling such a distance to be with us. We deeply appreciate your gifts, encouragement, prayers, and heartfelt blessings.

May God continue to bless each of you abundantly.

With love,
Mr. & Mrs. Duche Basahuwa
For every genuine Christian, the fear of the Lord is inevitable if he/she must live the godly life here on earth and make it to heaven.

Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 11:2-3 that the Spirit of the fear of the Lord would rest upon Jesus and He would delight in the fear of the Lord.

If the son of God, our perfect example, could not come to this world without the Spirit of the fear of the Lord, how can we, the followers, live without the Spirit of the fear of the Lord? Definitely it is impossible!

When we have the Spirit of the fear of the Lord, the ability to have reverential and obedient fear of the Lord is impacted to us. It makes us fear God and invariably keep His commands which the book of Ecclesiastes calls the conclusion of the whole matter and the whole duty of man (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

Proverbs 14:27 calls the fear of the Lord as a fountain of life that helps us depart from the snares of death. Solomon calls it the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 1:7) and Isaiah referred to it as a treasure (Isaiah 33:6c).

The month of November is proclaimed ‘OUR MONTH OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD’. Let God be praised forevermore!

Brethren, let us embrace the fear of the Lord and live for Him alone throughout this month and beyond. Happy New Month.

*Christmas Message*
Topic: Christ the Hope of Mankind
Text: 1 Timothy 3:14-16

*Introduction*

We were created to live according to God's will and for His glory. As Isaiah 43:7 states, "Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory." This truth is consistent with our salvation, as Paul writes, "to the praise of his glorious grace ... for the praise of his glory" (Ephesians 1:6, 12, 14), and that we "might glorify God for his mercy" (Romans 15:9).

*The Problem of Sin*

Sin has created an unnatural separation between God and humanity. Isaiah 59:2 reminds us, "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear." Jesus, being sinless, had never experienced separation from the Father. His feeling of desertion and rejection on the cross was a profound sacrifice.

*The Hope of Mankind*

God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to restore humanity's relationship with Him. Through Jesus, all people have the opportunity to live forever in God's kingdom if they truly believe in God and His promises. Jesus brings hope, and our hope is alive.

*A Story of Redemption*

In "The Reason Why," Robert tells the story of two friends who attended law school. One became a judge, while the other squandered his life and ended up in court. The judge, his old friend, passed sentence but then stepped down, took off his robes, and walked over to his friend. He put his arms around him and said, "Let it be recorded today, that not only have I passed sentence upon him, but I will stand chargeable with all his debts." In that moment, the judge became his redeemer.

*The True Meaning of Christmas*

Christmas is the story of God taking off the robes of deity and putting on the garments of humanity. He left a palace to come to a stable, because He loved us. The Maker of the universe became a curse for humanity.

*Conclusion*

Jesus paid the price for our sins, fulfilling the claims of the law. He paid the ultimate price, and He would have done it just for you. As we celebrate Christmas, let us remember the true meaning of hope and redemption that Jesus brings.

NEW MONTH MESSAGE

We have two unique events coming this month of February, as Ash Wednesday by our brothers Catholic, Anglicans etc, and Valentine’s Day will share the fourteenth day of the month. There is something fascinating to me about the conjunction of these two events. They seem so different, a date to celebrate love and a day to remember that we are dust. The combination of the two can serve as a reminder that it is the fleeting nature of life and love which makes it so precious.

As we give and receive signs and symbols of love, the occasion of ashes reminds us that we all stand in need of the grace of God for our daily existence. The sign of the cross can serve as a reminder that love is greater than the frailty of our humanity. God’s love displayed through Jesus Christ is the template of human love. Love can fix what is broken. The ashes remind us that love never dies, it just changes.

Think of Paul the Apostle. He was someone who was radically hostile to the early church and sought to destroy the Church through violence and threats. And yet, Christ did not give him up but sought him out and brought him to a restored relationship with God. His life was so radically transformed that the same man who embodied hatred could write with such eloquence of the qualities of love in the thirteenth chapter of Corinthians: Love is patient and kind, is not envious or boastful, keeps no record of wrongs.

As we enter the month of February, may God’s gracious love surround and transform us all.

God loves you, and so do I,
Happy New Month

Happy Valentine's Day!

As we celebrate the beauty of love today, let's remember the greatest commandments:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)

May we endeavour to spread love and kindness wherever we go. Smile in someone's face today, just as God has smiled upon you!

Wishing you a blissful Valentine's Day!

With love and blessings,

Gentle Reminder: 2025 New Year Harvest Thanksgiving

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise: give thanks unto him, and bless his name." - Psalm 100:4
You are reminded that today's program is Bible Study, as we prepare for our New Year Harvest Thanksgiving celebration.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Dear Beloved,

Don't miss our upcoming outreach at ECWA Worship Centre, Kaura, scheduled for April 22nd-25th. Let's pray for a bountiful harvest!

As we prepare for this mission, kindly consider the following:

- Pray fervently for the success of the outreach
- Gather gently used clothes for the less privileged. If you haven't worn it in 6 months, consider giving it away to create space and bless others!

Your prayers and generosity will make a significant impact!

May God bless you as we serve together!
