๐ธAt Ecovillage Georgia, staying away from chemicals was an unquestioned approach. The harder part was learning to think and act differently;
๐Because pests aren't really the problem. The imbalance of the ecosystem is.
๐ชฑWe started feeding the soil, giving it natural time to digest and observe what it has to give life to.
๐ฅWe covered the vegetable garden beds with mulch - leaves, straw, grass, etc. It holds moisture, slows erosion, and quietly builds fertility over time.
๐กWe are trying to grow in the permaculture way, in between our crops we plant wild trees, endemic species, pollinator plants, plants that can help soil to stay resilient.
๐ผWe mix crops. We plant marigolds among the vegetables.
๐ฉโ๐พThat's regenerative farming, which builds up and every next season is more harmonious.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ฆWe try to invite our neighbours and wider community to join this path and share inherited knowledge between ourselves and future generations!
