Unlike dollars or euros, which can be printed at the discretion of central banks, Bitcoin has a programmed cap: a total of 21,000,000 coins.

Total Bitcoin Supply

The total Bitcoin supply refers to the total number of coins that have already been created or will ever be issued in the future. This number is completely transparent — anyone can verify it using a blockchain explorer.

The supply consists of two parts:
