Another kind of BTC fork is a hard one. It’s a big change to a blockchain network that can make previously invalid transactions valid, or the other way around. Everyone who uses the network has to update their software to the new version 🔐

One example of a hard fork is Bitcoin Cash (BCH), occurred in 2017, from the original Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain.

Bitcoin Cash was created by a group of developers who wanted to increase the block size limit of the Bitcoin blockchain in order to improve transaction speed and reduce fees. This created a disagreement within the Bitcoin community. The change has eventually led to a hard fork, where the new Bitcoin Cash blockchain split off from the original Bitcoin blockchain 🆕

In fact, hard forks are like program updates that can be initiated by developers or community members who believe that changes to the protocol are necessary to improve the network's scalability, security, or other features.
