SushiSwap approval bug leads to $3.3M exploit 🔐
A bug on a smart contract on the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol SushiSwap led to over $3 million in losses in the early hours of April 9.
According to DefiLlama pseudonymous developer 0xngmi, the hack should only affect users who swapped in the protocol in the past four days.
Sushi’s head developer, Jared Grey, urged users to revoke permissions for all contracts on the protocol. Hours after the incident, Grey took to Twitter to announce that a ”large portion of affected funds” had been recovered through a white hat security process.

Bitcoin HODLers Increase at a record pace✊
Crypto market intelligence platform Santiment suggested that the number of bitcoin investors turning into long-term holders have been spiking recently. Glassnode determined that more than 50% of all BTC in circulation has not moved in the past two years.
As analyzed by Santiment, the total amount of individuals and entities holding bitcoin for the long run has soared to almost 45 million.
While the prolonged crypto winter caused significant damage to numerous organizations and triggered a severe market decline, it also offered investors the chance to increase their exposure to bitcoin at relatively lower costs. The securities regulator of Argentina has approved a Bitcoin-based futures index set to debut on the Matba Rofex exchange. The Bitcoin futures contract will start trading in May, with the exchange claiming it would be the first regulated Bitcoin futures index in Latin America.
The National Commission of Value (CNV), the country’s securities regulator, approved the Bitcoin futures index as part of a strategic innovation agenda.

Germany, Switzerland and Canada also saw positive sentiment, with inflows totaling $17 million, $13 million and $2.2 million, respectively, indicating a broad-based increase in confidence toward digital assets.
Overall, the positive sentiment in the digital asset market last week indicates that investors remain bullish on the prospects of cryptocurrency.
