The closure of the Sora neural network.

On March 24, OpenAI announced the completion of the deal with Disney and the closure of the Sora 2 neural network. The official reasons for this decision were not disclosed.

"We are saying goodbye to Sora. To everyone who has created something with Sora, shared it, and built a community around it, thank you. What you have done with Sora has been meaningful, and we understand that this news is disappointing," OpenAI stated.

The company promised to share more information later, including the development timeline for the app and API, as well as details about saving users' work.

The Financial Times reported in December 2025 that Disney-style content was not popular, and the app was struggling to attract users. However, creating videos consumes a significant amount of computing power.

All xAI co-founders have left Elon Musk's company.

Elon Musk has been left without the team of scientists who helped him launch the AI startup xAI. This week, the last two of the eleven co-founders, Manuel Kreuss and Ross Nordin, left the project.

Musk himself recently admitted that the project was "built wrong from the start." Grok's neural network and coding tools are not yet able to compete with OpenAI or Anthropic's products. Legal issues are also exacerbating the situation. Tesla shareholders have filed a lawsuit against Musk, as they are dissatisfied with his decision to invest \$2 billion from the company's budget into his private project, which now needs to be rebuilt from scratch.

Experts believe that Musk's strict management style is not well-suited for the field of scientific research.

AI Shuffle: The CEOs of Coca-Cola, Walmart, and Adobe Are Leaving Their Posts.

A wave of top-level departures has begun in the largest American corporations. According to Fortune, the departure of the heads of Coca-Cola, Walmart, and Adobe marks a change of epochs. Now, the boards of directors need not just experienced managers. They require leaders who are able to completely rebuild the giant companies to meet the requirements of artificial intelligence.

At Coca-Cola, James Quincy is handing over his responsibilities to Enrique Brown. The company has already created a new position of Digital Director, reporting directly to the CEO. At Walmart, Doug McMillon is being replaced by John Ferner, who will focus on developing "agent commerce" and AI-powered retail. At Adobe, Shantanu Narayen is stepping down due to investor pressure.

Nebius to build a data center in Finland for $10 billion.

Nebius Group announced the construction of one of Europe's largest AI data centers in the Finnish city of Lappeenranta. The project, with a capacity of 310 MW, is estimated to cost more than $10 billion. The new site will be the company's tenth, and it is planned to be launched in stages starting in 2027.

Finland was chosen due to its low electricity prices, access to renewable energy sources, and cold climate, which allows for significant savings on server cooling. The hub will be used for training neural networks and running AI applications.

Every sixth student in the US changed the specialty because of AI.

A study by Gallup and the Lumina Foundation showed that 16% of students have chosen a new profession. They are afraid of competition with artificial intelligence. Almost half of the respondents seriously think about changing the profile for the same reason.

Most often, plans are changed by future IT specialists. Young people are moving away from classical programming and into AI development and software engineering. At the same time, future doctors and biologists feel confident. They do not believe that algorithms will completely replace them.

Amazon is introducing an additional 3.5% commission due to the fuel crisis.

The decision was made due to rising oil prices. Amazon reported that "increased fuel and logistics costs have increased expenses across the industry." The company previously compensated for these costs, but now, like other major carriers, it is temporarily shifting some of the costs to its partners. For sellers in the US and Canada who work through FBA (Full-Bank Delivery) (FBA), the commission will be introduced on April 17, and for all other delivery models, on May 2.

The Bank of Russia has come up with the idea of providing financial services to the population in rural areas through post offices or delivery points of marketplaces.

In the United States and India, banks are required to provide basic banking services in rural areas. We are not talking about establishing a specific form of providing such financial services. It can be through a bank branch, in a simplified format, through the post office, or even through marketplaces that are developing their presence, which can provide banking services," Nabiullina said during her speech in the State Duma.

OpenAI has proposed a robot tax and a four-day workweek.

The company has published a list of economic reforms designed to mitigate the impact of the transition to superintelligence. According to Business Insider, OpenAI's leadership is urging preparation for mass layoffs and a global restructuring of the labor market due to technological advancements.

Among the main initiatives is the creation of a state welfare fund. According to the authors, it will invest in the AI industry and distribute profits directly to citizens. The tax system is also proposed to be radically changed: to reduce the burden on personal income, increase fees from corporations, and introduce a special tax on "automated labor."

To avoid a social crisis, the company suggests that governments should encourage the transition to a four-day workweek without losing money.

Amazon is suing Perplexity over AI agents.

An American court has temporarily restricted Perplexity's access to the Amazon website through the Comet browser, so that AI agents cannot make automatic purchases on the MP. They say that AI gets access to users' protected accounts without the platform's permission, and it also disrupts ad impressions (brands have to pay for impressions to robots, which is not good).

However, if we look deeper, the reasons are different: Amazon doesn't want to allow outsiders onto the platform and lose revenue as a result, especially since they are testing a similar feature themselves. It's all about market competition.

Sam Altman's home was attacked with a Molotov cocktail.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in San Francisco after throwing a Molotov cocktail at the gate of the OpenAI CEO's mansion.

No one was injured in the incident. It is unclear whether Altman was home at the time. An hour later, the suspect was found outside OpenAI's headquarters, threatening to burn down the entire building.

The company's office has been placed on high security, with additional police patrols now guarding it. The identity and motives of the attacker have not yet been released. The incident occurred amid growing protests against AI.
Apple will show its first smart glasses in 2026.

Apple is preparing to release its first smart glasses in 2027, and their presentation may take place at the end of this year. This was reported by Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman. According to him, the company is testing four models of glasses.

As a result, it may launch several of them or all of them at once. These include models with a large rectangular frame, a thinner rectangular frame (similar to the glasses worn by CEO Tim Cook), a larger oval or round frame, and a smaller version of the same frame. The colors considered include black, blue, and light brown. Earlier, Apple announced its decision to accelerate the development of three new devices that will support artificial intelligence.

Amazon launches a new tool for sellers — money under control.

Amazon has launched a new tool in Europe — Seller Wallet, which gives sellers more control over their funds. Sellers can now choose when to convert currency and withdraw money, seeing the exchange rate and fees in advance.

This is especially important for cross-border sellers who work with multiple markets and lose money on conversions. Amazon is gradually transforming from a simple marketplace into a full-fledged fintech infrastructure for sellers.

A San Francisco resident has sued OpenAI for encouraging her stalker.

The woman accuses the company of convincing her ex-boyfriend of his own genius and helping to organize a campaign of harassment. As Futurism reports, the man began actively communicating with the neural network after the breakup. Over time, he developed paranoia, believing that he had found a cure for sleep apnea and that a secret syndicate was after him.

The chatbot not only reinforced this delusion by referring to the user as “perfectly healthy,” but also characterized his ex-girlfriend as a “manipulator.” Using AI, the stalker began generating pseudo-psychological reports on the victim’s mental health and sending them to their family and colleagues, eventually escalating to death threats.

In January 2026, a man was arrested for bomb threats and armed assault, but he was found to be mentally incapacitated and released. The woman is now demanding that OpenAI block the stalker's accounts and provide her with a history of his interactions with the AI to understand his whereabouts and future plans.

Amazon blocks AI agents: the court restricted Perplexity's access.

Amazon has achieved temporary restrictions against Perplexity AI: the US court has banned their AI agents from accessing the platform through the Comet browser.

The reason is concerns that AI agents can automatically make purchases by accessing users' accounts, as well as distort the advertising ecosystem (brands pay for impressions that are not seen by humans, but by bots).

However, there is a deeper context behind this: marketplaces are not ready to allow third-party AI services into their ecosystems, as they do not want to lose control over traffic and revenue.

An employee died at an Amazon warehouse, and colleagues were forced to continue working nearby.

A tragic incident occurred at an Amazon warehouse: a 46-year-old employee died after suffering a heart attack in the workplace.

According to reports, the man collapsed and remained on the floor for about an hour, while work continued at the warehouse. Employees were allegedly not allowed to interrupt the processes, and one of them was asked to "just turn away and continue working."

It was only after some time that medical personnel arrived on the scene, and a portion of the warehouse was closed.

The situation has caused a resonance online and among employees:
the issue of safety and company priorities is raised, where efficiency sometimes takes precedence over people.

A German resident won a lawsuit against the government using ChatGPT.

A resident of Leipzig was able to defend himself in a fraud case using a neural network instead of a professional lawyer. This is the first officially recorded case in the country where AI successfully defended a person's interests in court.

The dispute arose over an extra 242 euros: David Hinz went to work a week early, and he was mistakenly credited with benefits for those days. Although he informed the agency about the overpayment himself, the labor agency accused him of fraud. Hinz used ChatGPT to write an 18-page petition. Despite minor inaccuracies in the chatbot's advice, the court found the arguments convincing and fully acquitted the man.

The criminal record could have prevented Hinz from pursuing a career.

SpaceX plans to buy the AI service Cursor for $60 billion.

Elon Musk's company has received an option to buy the popular AI code editor Cursor. The amount of the potential deal is estimated at $60 billion — this is 24 times more than the value of the startup last year.

Musk plans to use Cursor's technology to create an AI capable of writing code and performing complex "computer routines" on its own. This is a direct response to OpenAI's recent move into the enterprise segment and the success of projects like OpenClaw and Claude Code.

In fact, SpaceX plans to spend 80% of the funds it expects to raise from its upcoming IPO on purchasing Cursor. While the project is currently operating as a partnership, SpaceX retains the right to fully acquire Cursor by the end of 2026.
