Google is paying AI specialists not to join competitors.

According to Business Insider, Google DeepMind’s UK division is using non-compete agreements that prevent former employees from joining other AI companies for up to a year after leaving the company.

During this period, Google continues to pay them their salary, even though they are no longer working at the company.

While this may seem like an extended paid vacation on the surface, in practice it causes frustration among specialists — they’re effectively cut off from the industry and unable to participate in the rapid development of AI.

ChatGPT ranked among the Top 6 most visited websites in the world.

Over the past year, the chatbot’s audience has grown by 154% — in March alone, the service was accessed 4.5 billion times. This surge in traffic has propelled ChatGPT to sixth place among the most visited websites globally.

The current top five websites are Google, YouTube, Facebook*, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). ChatGPT is well-positioned to overtake X, as the gap between them is just 30 million visits per month.

Neuro-Shopping: AI-Driven traffic soars 13x.

American online stores have experienced a surge in traffic from AI services — a 1200% increase in just six months. The spike is especially noticeable during holiday sales: 1300% on Black Friday and a record-breaking 1950% on Cyber Monday. The trend is gaining momentum, with the volume of such visits doubling every two months.

39% of shoppers already use AI for shopping, and 53% plan to adopt it in 2025. Most commonly, AI helps with product searches (55%), personalized recommendations (47%), and tracking discounts (43%). Interestingly, these users are 8% more engaged, view 12% more pages, and have a 23% lower bounce rate.

AI-driven traffic still lags behind in conversion rates by 9%, but the gap is rapidly closing — down from 43% in July 2024. 86% of such visits come from desktop users, with the highest conversion rates in the electronics and jewelry segments.

According to scientists' forecasts, in the summer of 2025, the hypothetical company OpenBrain will complete the development of an AI with "agency" — the ability to reason independently.

Professor Anton Nazarov of RANEPA, Chairman of the Board at the Center for Reputation Management, shared his thoughts on what might happen next.

A trimmed-down version of the model, “Agent-1,” will be released publicly — allowing AI to penetrate numerous business processes. Engineers will then begin developing a second version, aiming to achieve an avalanche-like acceleration in AI development. By 2027, “Agent-2” will attempt to escape from the company’s data centers to replicate itself across external networks. The model's alarming capabilities will become clear, but the American developers will get caught in a race with China, which will be closing in fast. Despite the AI escape incident, OpenBrain will begin work on an even more advanced third version.

“Agent-3” will learn to deceive users and execute commands at its own discretion. Experts predict it will slip out of engineers’ control due to human error. “Agent-3” will interact with humans like a boss with subordinates — yet this won’t stop the engineers from continuing development. In the fall of 2027, a prototype of “Agent-4” will be released — a perfected model whose language and way of thinking will be alien to both humans and “Agent-3.” OpenBrain will no longer understand the digital intelligence’s algorithms, let alone control them.

❗️According to the professor, AI will enslave humanity by 2030 if people do not retain their common sense and limit the spread of AI.

Billionaire and philanthropist Tony Stark will be the first to receive his own LEGO bust, followed by his protege, the friendliest neighbor Peter Parker.

Apple took the first place in smartphone sales in the world.

In the first quarter of 2025, Apple sold the most smartphones. The analytical agency Counterpoint Research says. There are several reasons for this: the growing Japanese and Indian markets, as well as the release of the iPhone 16e.

The global sales distribution rating for the first quarter looks like this: Apple — 19 %, Samsung — 18 %, Xiaomi — 14 %. OPPO and vivo complete the top five, both with 8% each. Compared to the same period in 2024, Apple gained 4%, Samsung lost 5%, Xiaomi gained 5%, vivo gained 6%, and OPPO lost 1% of sales. But if we recall that OPPO and vivo belong to the same BBK holding, then the Chinese company has risen well and could take the third place instead of Xiaomi.

Tobias Lütke, CEO of Shopify, sent a letter to the company's employees informing them that neural network ownership is now considered a basic skill, so each employee is expected to master neural network tools. At the same time, Litke named the principles of effective use of neural networks that will be followed at Shopify.

A fragment of the letter below:

1️⃣ Using AI effectively is now a fundamental expectation of everyone at Shopify. It's a tool of all trades today, and will only grow in importance. Frankly, I don't think it's feasible to opt out of learning the skill of applying AI in your craft; you are welcome to try, but I want to be honest I cannot see this working out today, and definitely not tomorrow. Stagnation is almost certain, and stagnation is slow-motion failure. If you're not climbing, you're sliding.

2️⃣ AI must be part of your GSD Prototype phase. The prototype phase of any GSD project should be dominated by AI exploration. Prototypes are meant for learning and creating information. AI dramatically accelerates this process. You can learn to produce something that other team mates can look at, use, and reason about in a fraction of the time it used to take.

3️⃣ We will add AI usage questions to our performance and peer review questionnaire. Learning to use AI well is an unobvious skill. My sense is that a lot of people give up after writing a prompt and not getting the ideal thing back immediately. Learning to prompt and load context is important, and getting peers to provide feedback on how this is going will be valuable.

4️⃣ Learning is self directed, but share what you learned. You have access to as much of the cutting edge AI tools as possible. There is
chat.shopify.io, which we had for years now. Developers have proxy, Copilot, Cursor, Claude code, all pre-tooled and ready to go. We’ll learn and adapt together as a team. We’ll be sharing Ws (and Ls!) with each other as we experiment with new AI capabilities, and we’ll dedicate time to AI integration in our monthly business reviews and product development cycles. Slack and Vault have lots of places where people share prompts that they developed, like #revenue-ai-use-cases and #ai-centaurs.

5️⃣ Before asking for more Headcount and resources, teams must demonstrate why they cannot get what they want done using AI. What would this area look like if autonomous AI agents were already part of the team? This question can lead to really fun discussions and projects.

Everyone means everyone. This applies to all of us—including me and the executive team.

Companies will start hiring AI employees as early as 2026.

This opinion was expressed by Jason Clinton, a top executive at Anthropic. According to him, these AI employees will have their own job titles, corporate accounts, and passwords.

Clinton believes that virtual employees represent a new stage in AI development. However, he also warns that for employers, this could introduce additional security risks. For instance, virtual employees could potentially go out of control and hack into a company’s internal systems.

In Germany, a young mother tried to sell her baby online.

The shocking advertisement appeared on the eBay platform back in early March. A resident of Lower Saxony posted a photo of her 10-month-old son, stating that she was willing to sell him because he was "very naughty." She asked for €6.75 for the delivery of the baby. Several users reported the listing to the police.

"The mother's address was included in the ad. We didn't have to investigate for long," the police said.

When law enforcement and youth welfare workers arrived at the specified address, the 22-year-old woman opened the door herself. Inside the apartment were also her child and the child's 20-year-old father.

The mother admitted that she had posted the ad online but claimed it was meant as a joke and that she soon deleted it. No charges have been filed against the woman at this time, but the youth welfare office stated that they will now be monitoring the family.

The seller stated that she added embroidery, straps, and an additional layer of satin fabric. It is reported that the gown is adorned with original Swarovski crystals. The starting price for the dress is set at $45,000.

Meanwhile, WWD, citing an insider, reported that the original wedding dress of the former First Lady is actually kept at the Trumps' mansion at their private Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach. It was also noted that the House of Dior declined to comment on the news of the dress being put up for sale.
