The company eBay updates order cancellation policy.

The company eBay now allows buyers to cancel an order as long as it hasn’t been shipped. This change, effective from August, provides buyers with more flexibility. Sellers are notified of a cancellation request and have three days to respond. If the request is not handled by the seller, eBay automatically denies it after three days.

Once the cancellation is approved, eBay issues a full refund to buyers and compensates sellers according to its policy. Sellers are also protected from negative feedback if they decline the cancellation request.

Amazon will now be sorting pills.

Amazon Pharmacy is making it easier for customers to manage multiple medications with the launch of a new PillPack feature. Amazon Pharmacy customers can now have their eligible medications—three or more—pre-sorted into convenient pill packets, and have them delivered to their door. This new offering extends the PillPack. com service, while offering new savings, a simpler sign-up experience, and faster delivery.

Amazon acquired PillPack. com in 2018 and has continued to operate the service as a separate offering. Integrating the PillPack offering allows customers to benefit both from the affordability of Amazon and the convenience of PillPack.

With PillPack, customers receive their medications packaged into personalized, tear-away packets organized and labeled by date and time. This eliminates the hassle of managing multiple pill bottles and helps people stick to their prescribed routines. The medication packing service is free and includes a monthly delivery of a pre-sorted roll of medications and 24/7 access to a pharmacist. Prime members also enjoy significant savings on medications through RxPass and the Prime prescription savings benefit.

California's governor has vetoed an AI bill.

It could have become the legal foundation for AI regulation in the U.S.

According to the SB 1047 bill companies would have been required to test AI technologies for potential risks to humanity.

The current version of the bill would have significantly slowed the development of innovative technologies: startup development would have become too risky, as it's impossible to foresee all potential threats.

The secret of success of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has been revealed.

Bezos’s fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, confirmed her partner remains committed to slow mornings, adding, “We don’t get on our phones. That’s one of the rules.”

Why has Bezos banned screen time for the first hour after waking? It’s likely that his one-hour rule is partly about personal preference. We’re all wired differently when it comes to our fluctuating energy levels and tolerance for stimulation, and experts insist we do better when our routines honor our particular rhythms rather than fighting them.

But Bezos claims his puttering doesn’t just help him enjoy life more. In the same 2018 speech, he insisted his slow-burn, phone-free mornings improve his energy levels and decision-making abilities all day long.

The latest neuroscience suggests he’s on to something with this claim. Less online mornings lead to smarter, healthier days, and new research strongly suggests more of us should steal Bezos’s one-hour rule.

6 things you should never do in an Amazon job interview.

Want to work for Amazon? Remember the basic rules of the online giant that you should adhere to during the interview:

1️⃣ Arriving late

Punctuality is highly valued at Amazon. Showing up late, even by a few minutes, can create a poor first impression.

2️⃣ Speaking negatively about your current employer

At Amazon interview questions are behavioral-based.

3️⃣ Appearing unprepared

Lack of preparation looks different for everyone and can manifest itself in different ways throughout the interview process. The first is a lack of understanding of which Amazon team you’re interviewing with.

4️⃣ Providing vague or irrelevant answers

For interviews hr of Amazon recommend candidates format their responses using the STAR method to answer behavioral-based interview questions, incorporating examples representative of Amazon’s Leadership Principles.

5️⃣ Providing answers or asking questions that are discriminatory in nature

Candidates need to be extremely mindful of their language and avoid making any comments that could be seen as stereotyping, prejudiced or discriminatory towards protected groups. This includes race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Nobel Prize in Physics awarded for discoveries in the field of neural networks.

The prize winners were John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton. Both physicists began their work with neural networks back in the 1970s.

American scientist John Hopfield is known for developing “associative memory” - a method that allows images and data to be restored even if they are partially distorted. The approach is based on the physical properties of atoms and involves searching for the “most similar” among the remaining data.

The Godfather of AI, Geoffrey Hinton, created the Boltzmann machine, a neural network that can recognize key elements in images. In 2012, Hinton, together with Ilya Sutskever, developed a neural network capable of analyzing arrays of photographs and recognizing objects in them.

Amazon has shown what a workday for the Proteus robot looks like.

Proteus is one of the hardest-working robots at Amazon. It moves packages around fulfillment centers so they can be loaded onto trucks that transport them to the next stage of the fulfillment process. Proteus doesn’t need barriers or stickers. It has sensors that allow it to navigate the work area and quickly stop when something gets too close.

This could be a cart, a chute, another robot, or even a person. On a typical workday, Proteus works two shifts of around 10 hours each. The Proteus robot was invented back in October 2022 and was Amazon's first autonomous mobile robot at the time.

A giant plush remote from the Nintendo museum is being sold on eBay.

The Nintendo Museum opened in the company’s hometown of Kyoto, and it is already limiting some gift shop items to one per person in an attempt to discourage visitors from flipping exclusive merch online.

The two-story museum highlights the company’s history dating back to 1889, when Nintendo started making hanafuda playing cards. It also features interactive exhibits letting visitors play Nintendo games in unusual ways, including using oversized NES controllers and Wii Remotes that need two people to operate.

What’s generated even more buzz than the museum’s exhibits are the exclusive items available in the museum’s gift shop. Some of the items, which were available during preview events at the museum, have already shown up on sites like eBay with huge markups. A giant plush Wii Remote is currently going for $474, while a complete set of controller cushions, including the Super Famicom and N64, is asking $1,399.
