Chinese startup DeepSeek unveiled its new flagship V4 model.

The Chinese startup has released a public preview version of its fourth-generation models. The release includes the heavyweight Pro version (1.6 trillion parameters) for complex calculations and a leaner Flash version for fast generation.

The main change was the transition to a context window standard of 1 million tokens. In programming and math tests, the Pro version competes with top-tier closed-source solutions from Google and Anthropic.

The API for the new models is already operational and supports OpenAI and Anthropic formats. The company plans to completely disable the older versions of deepseek-chat and deepseek-reasoner by July 2026.

Chinese DeepSeek has dramatically reduced the cost of AI solutions by offering a 75% discount on its new DeepSeek-V4-Pro model.

At the same time, the company has reduced the cost of caching requests across its entire API lineup by a factor of ten, significantly lowering the cost of development.

The pre-release version of the model was unveiled on Friday. The model is optimized for Huawei chips, indicating DeepSeek's efforts to strengthen its position within the Chinese semiconductor ecosystem.

The 75% discount on the DeepSeek-V4-Pro is valid until May 5. Currently, there are two versions in the lineup:

According to the company, the Pro version performs well in benchmarks for global data knowledge, outperforming most open-source models and being second only to Google's solutions (specifically, the closed-source Gemini-Pro-3.1).

The model follows instructions better and can generate images with captions in different languages.

Google is launching a virtual clothing try-on feature.

A Wardrobe section will appear in the Google Photos service, which will automatically gather all your clothes into a virtual closet. AI will analyze your photo library, recognize clothes in them, and sort them into categories.

Directly in the app, you will be able to mix items, create outfits on mood boards, and 'try them on' a digital avatar to evaluate the look from the outside. The neural network will itself suggest how well the selected pieces go together.

The feature release is scheduled for summer 2026. Initially, Android users will get access to the virtual wardrobe, and later the update will come to iOS.
