نکته ای در مورد کلمه TV:

همانطور که می دانید کلمه TV به معنی ‘تلویزیون’ است؛ در این مطلب می خواهیم به حرف اضافه ای بپردازیم که برای TV استفاده می شود.

ما وقتی می گوییم "فیلم را از تلویزیون تماشا کردم."، برای ترجمه "از" در این جمله باید دقت داشته باشیم که از from نباید استفاده کرد. بنابراین جمله زیر صحیح نیست:

I watched the movie from TV.

برای بیان چنین مفهومی کلمه "از" به صورت on ترجمه می شود. بنابراین جمله بالا در زبان انگلیسی به این صورت بیان می شود:

I watched the movie on TV.


دو مثال دیگر:

When was the last time you watched a match on TV?

آخرین باری که مسابقه ای را از تلویزیون دیدی کی بود؟


What's on TV tonight?

امشب چی از تلویزیون پخش میشود (یا امشب تلویزیون چی داره؟)



نکته: وقتی که در مورد برنامه های تلویزیون صحبت می کنیم (مثل مثال های بالا)، از کلمه the قبل از TV نباید استفاده کرد، یعنی استفاده از on the TV برای اشاره به برنامه های تلویزیونی صحیح نیست.

Functions of nouns:
Nouns can be used as a subject, direct object and indirect object of verb, object of preposition, adverb and adjective. Nouns also shows possession.
Examples:
As a subject: 1. the mail carrier always rings twice.
2. Violets are spring flowers.
As a direct object: I finally sold my car.
Indirect object: Harold fed the cat another alive.
Object of preposition: she gave direction over the phone.
As an adverb: the train leaves today.
As an adjective: the office building faces the mall.
As a possession: 1. the parrot's 🦜 cage needs cleaning.
2. My father's brother is my uncle.
Difficult words:
Mail carrier = some one whose job is to deliver mail. Synonym = mail man = نامه رسان
Violets= a plant with small dark purple flowers 💐 or sometimes white or yellow ones. = بنفشه
Cage= a thing that uses for saving birds and animals.
