اصطلاحی با کلمه word:
حتما با کلمه word اشنا هستید و می دانید که معنی آن ‘کلمه’ است؛ در این مطلب می خواهیم با اصطلاحی آشنا شویم که word نیز در آن بکار می رود.
اصطلاحی که می خواهیم با آن آشنا شویم اصطلاح give one’s word است، که به معنی ‘وعده دادن’ است. این اصطلاح با کلمه promise متراف است.
به یک مثال توجه کنید:
He gave his word that he would never lie again.
او وعده داد که دیگر هیچ وقت دروغ نمی گوید.
We gave our word that we would do our best.
ما وعده دادیم که تمام تلاش مان را بکنیم.

Lesson 13th Present continues tense: The present continuous tense, also known as the present progressive tense, is used to describe actions that are currently happening at the moment of speaking or actions that are ongoing. It can also indicate future plans…
Lesson 14th:
Present perfect tense:
The present perfect tense is a grammatical tense used to express actions or states that have relevance to the present moment. It is formed by combining the auxiliary verb "have" (or "has" for third-person singular subjects) with the past participle of the main verb.
▎Structure
1. Affirmative Form:
• Subject + have/has + past participle
• Example: "I have eaten." / "She has finished her homework."
2. Negative Form:
• Subject + have/has + not + past participle
• Example: "I have not eaten." / "He has not seen that movie."
3. Interrogative Form:
• Have/has + subject + past participle?
• Example: "Have you eaten?" / "Has she completed her project?"
▎Uses of Present Perfect Tense
1. Unspecified Time Before Now: It describes actions that occurred at some unspecified time in the past.
• Example: "I have traveled to France." (The exact time is not mentioned.)
2. Life Experience: It indicates experiences in someone's life up to the present.
• Example: "They have never been to Japan."
3. Continuing Situations: It expresses situations that started in the past and continue to the present.
• Example: "I have lived here for five years." (I still live here.)
4. Recent Actions with Present Relevance: It describes actions that were completed recently, with a result that is relevant now.
• Example: "She has just finished her report." (The report is relevant now.)
5. Repeated Actions: It can indicate actions that have occurred multiple times up to now.
• Example: "He has visited that museum several times."
▎Key Time Expressions
Some common time expressions used with the present perfect tense include:
• Ever
• Never
• Just
• Already
• Yet
• For (a period of time)
• Since (a specific point in time)
• Recently
▎Examples
1. Affirmative: "We have seen that movie."
2. Negative: "I have not read that book yet."
3. Interrogative: "Have you ever tried sushi?"
▎Common Mistakes
• Confusing the present perfect with the simple past tense. The present perfect focuses on the relevance to the present, while the simple past refers to a specific time in the past.
• Incorrect: "I saw that movie last week." (Simple past)
• Correct: "I have seen that movie." (Present perfect)
▎Conclusion
The present perfect tense is a versatile and important part of English grammar, used to connect past actions or experiences to the present. Understanding its structure and uses can greatly enhance your ability to communicate effectively in English.
