بعد از ان صبح لعنی که با وحیده تند صحبت کردم دیگر ندیدم اش. «کاش برایت اجازه نمیدادم. دل خوشی من تو بودی. همیشه روز های خوش تو را تصور میکردم. اول نمره شدن در کانکور که همیشه می گفتی، فارغ شدم از دانشگاه، لباس زیبا و سفید عروس بر تن ات... آه دختر قشنگم. وقت ات نبود اینقدر زود و دنیا را ندیده بروی! کاش به جای تو من می مردم و تو می بودی! وحیده...عزیز مادر...

زنهای همسایه بدون دانستن حضورم، با هم قصه می کنند و می گویند « بیچاره دختر جوان و هجده ساله. مردن که مرد ولی خیلی وحشیانه...تمام بدن اش تکه و پاره شده بود...ای پیر زن بیچاره چه دردی نصیب اش شد. فقط یک دختر و پسر داشت. چقدر به آن دخترش خوش بود. رفت بیچاره و این زن درمانده را، در این پیری و درماندگی اش تنها گذاشت. اگر او به زودی از چیزی دیگری نمیرد، این غم او را خواهد کشت.....»
ولی دیگر حرف های شان برایم تاثیری ندارد. چون توانی برای داد و فریاد زدن ندارم. حالا دیگر اشک هم نمی ریزم. همه چیز در درونم سخت شده و گیر مانده. اصلا دیگر روحی انگار در من نمانده است. فقط تن نحیفی باقی مانده مثل شیشه شکننده و مثل یخ سرد.
روز و شب برایم فرقی ندارد. خوشی و غم را از هم تفکیک نمی توانم. روز و شب برایم یکی شده. هیچ کاری هم از دستم بر نمی آید. اصلا نمی فهمم زندگی و حس زنده بودن یعنی چه. البته فقط یک چیز را می فهمم: «دختری که دار و ندارم بود و خودش هم آرزو های بلندی داشت، در سن خیلی کم و بی گناه بسیار وحشیانه کشته شد. نه حق او بود و نه حق من. اما ما نه عدالتی دیدیم و نه بازخواستی. چه بگوئیم!؟...» مثل دختر من ده ها دختر معصوم دیگر تکه و پاره شدند و آرمان های شان به خاک شد. و مثل من دها مادر دیگر در این غم جانکاه و اندوه بی پایان افتادند... نمی فهمم چرا؟
شاید چون این جا افغانستان است...
