Starting now, EBR Exchange only supports mobile money payments: Telebirr, M-Pesa, and CBE Birr.
To protect your privacy and security, we've made the decision to remove traditional bank account details from the platform. Sharing full bank account numbers, branch names, and account holder details with trading counterparties creates an unnecessary privacy risk.
Mobile money transfers carry the same information only the sender needs... a phone number or nothing more.
We believe this is the right move for our community, and we're committed to keeping your personal data as minimal as possible.
What you need to do:
> Go to Settings → Payment Methods
> Delete any saved bank accounts (CBE, Awash, Dashen, Abyssinia, etc.)
> Add your Telebirr, M-Pesa, or CBE Birr mobile number
If you had active orders with bank methods, please update them after adding your mobile money details.

📍A Note on KYC: Your Privacy Matters to Us
We've seen concerns from some of you about submitting identity documents, and we want to address this directly and honestly.
Why does KYC exist on EBR?
EBR is a financial platform handling real money transfers. KYC (Know Your Customer) exists for one reason: to protect the community. Without identity verification, bad actors can create fake accounts, defraud other traders, and disappear. KYC makes that significantly harder. It also protects you: if your account is ever compromised, identity verification is the only way we can confirm ownership and recover it.
What happens to your documents?
Your ID photos and selfie are stored encrypted. They are only reviewed by our internal compliance team for the sole purpose of verifying your identity. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for anything beyond account verification. Once reviewed, documents are retained only as long as required and handled with strict access controls.
We understand this requires trust. We do not take that lightly.
You do NOT need KYC to trade.
This is the part many users miss, EBR is built around tiers:
Tier 0;
> Account created only
> Very limited access (verify your email to unlock trading)
Tier 1;
> Email verified
> Trade up to 500 USDT/day, post orders up to 200 USDT, transfer up to 500 USDT/day
Tier 2:
> Identity verified (KYC)
> Trade up to 5,000 USDT/day, > Post orders up to 2,000 USDT, higher withdrawal limits
Tier 3;
> Verified Merchant status
> Up to 50,000 USDT/day, full merchant tools
( some of you didn’t even read the pinned documentation & you're complaining here like detectives)

If you are not comfortable submitting documents, you can still buy, sell, and transfer USDT every day at Tier 1, no KYC required.
KYC is only necessary if you want to go beyond those limits.
We respect your choice. Submit when you're ready, or trade within Tier 1 limits without ever sharing a document.
