Official Announcement: EACE Signs Strategic MOU with Ethiopian Mediation and Arbitration Center (EMAC)
The Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers (EACE) is pleased to announce the successful signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ethiopian Mediation and Arbitration Center (EMAC) on April 16, 2026 in Addis Ababa.
The MOU was officially signed by:
Lensa Biyena – Executive Director, Ethiopian Mediation and Arbitration Center (EMAC)
Eng. Amanuel Hailemariam – President, Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers (EACE)
This important partnership aims to strengthen the construction sector in Ethiopia by promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms — particularly mediation, arbitration, and adjudication — for construction-related disputes.
Through this collaboration, EACE and EMAC will jointly:
• Deliver specialized training and capacity-building programs for EACE members and construction professionals on dispute prevention, contract management, and effective ADR practices.
• Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to promote best practices in the industry.
• Encourage the use of EMAC’s modern venue and expert roster of construction-savvy arbitrators and mediators.
• Explore joint research and publications to improve dispute resolution standards in Ethiopia’s construction industry.
This partnership aligns perfectly with EACE’s mission to advance professional excellence, support the sustainable development of the construction sector, and provide our members with practical tools to address real-world challenges more efficiently and amicably.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Lensa Biyena and the entire EMAC team for this forward-thinking collaboration.
Stay tuned for announcements on upcoming joint training sessions and events!
Together, we are building a more efficient, professional, and collaborative construction industry in Ethiopia.
