Biden Rival Pledges To Pardon Assange

US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has vowed to pardon “brave truth-tellers,” including WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who is currently held in a British high-security prison as he fights extradition to America.

The US “actively persecutes journalists and whistleblowers” instead of championing free speech, Democratic contender Kennedy tweeted on Tuesday. “This isn’t the Soviet Union. The America I love doesn’t imprison dissidents.”

The Australian-born Assange is effectively facing a life sentence for his role in the leaks by US military whistleblower Chelsea Manning. Assange was arrested in Britain in 2019 after Ecuador revoked his political asylum, allowing police to enter its embassy in London, where he had been holed up for seven years.

US Elites Drew Up Plan To Split Russia — Security Chief

The Secretary of Moscow’s Security Council has claimed that the US and its allies seek to preserve their power by dismantling Russia, with Western think tanks busy formulating plans.

In an interview published by the Izvestia newspaper on Wednesday, Nikolay Patrushev said the West attempted to influence the global order through “the destruction of Russia or its weakening to the level of a third-rate country under foreign management.”

He cited a book published last year titled ‘Failed State: A Guide to Russia’s Rupture’ as an example of academic work suggesting ways of achieving that goal for the elites in Washington.

Janusz Bugajski, a senior fellow at conservative Washington-based think tank The Jamestown Foundation, wrote the book. The author made a case for the dissolution of Russia, claiming it had failed to become “a nation-state, a civic state or a stable imperial state.”
