In beta 4, I removed version spoofing since it breaks the Shorts UI and because Google removed AppAttest.

Hi everyone. Just a quick reminder in case someone isn’t aware or had doubts:

- All issues with YouTube on iOS 14 (19.x.x versions) — fixed
- All issues with the Update Required message — fixed
- All fetching issues in the profiles or during login (a.k.a. unable to fetch) — fixed
- All playback issues (a.k.a. something went wrong) — fixed
- All authentication issues — fixed

I’ll say even more. Google restricted modified apps on most if not all platforms from using version spoofing by removing 19.x.x from the list of supported versions. I’m not using that spoof anymore.

I bypassed their attestation and bypassed their precondition checks.

All that’s left now is to go through the GitHub issues, fix the remaining bugs (most of them are already fixed), and update the YouTube Plus icons to the new ‘cairo’ style. 50% of them I had to create in vector editor, by the way

As always, the update will first be available on Patreon. It will roll out tier by tier, starting with the highest tier, then gradually moving to lower tiers, and eventually a public beta available to everyone.

• Added native Sleep timer, available from overlay and tab bar, including YouTube v19.x.x
• Added post and comment translation via long press
• Added new playback speed mode. The old one is now called Standard (up to 5x), and the new one Advanced (up to 10x)
• Added new YouTube logo selector for Navigation bar
• Added new icons, adapted to YouTube style
• Added format and codec display when selecting video download quality
• Added ability to seek instead of skipping to next/previous track via Control Center
• Added option to remove tracking from tapped links (without it, Google first opens its analytics site before redirecting to the actual URL)
• Added option to hide posts in Shorts
• Added information explaining why Cast does not work on newer versions for sideloaded builds
• Added option to force Shorts quality (quality selector from Shorts settings removed as it was not working in 50% of cases)
• Added Hype, Music, Live, Gaming, Sports, Notifications tabs

• Improved Shorts to regular video — videos now open on tap (previously Shorts player was shown first, then the regular player)
• Improved Hold to speed in Shorts — both sides can now be selected simultaneously instead of only one

• Improved YouTube Plus' player toast
• Rewritten SponsorBlock core, and partially the YouTube Plus core itself in preparation for future updates

Hey everyone,

After careful consideration, I’ve decided to move YTPlus to a Patreon-based subscription model for future versions.

I’ve tried to keep the tweak free for years, hoping for support from users - but aside from pre-release beta periods (which were often leaked on day one), that support has been minimal. Any kind of work deserves to be valued, and I’ve come to realize that mine is no exception. Experience has shown that if you try to be the “nice guy”, people will take advantage of it and eventually start expecting even more.

What’s even more frustrating is that some so-called “stores” have been selling my tweaks under the pretense of “pay to install”. At that point, moving to a paid model makes far more sense than walking away entirely.

For those who are not ready to switch, all previous versions will remain free.

YTPlus 5.2 is expected to be released in approximately 5 days.
