😎 Altman goes Hollywood

The first trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s Artificial has been released, with Andrew Garfield starring as Sam Altman and Yura Borisov playing OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever.

The film revisits Altman’s sudden firing from OpenAI in November 2023 and his return as CEO just five days later, set against the rise of ChatGPT and the growing AI race.

Artificial premieres October 5 at the New York Film Festival.

OpenAI has rolled out ChatGPT Images 2.5, making image generation up to 50% faster and improving accuracy with reference images and targeted edits.

🛸 Windows, ready for developers

Microsoft has introduced Project Zenith, a preconfigured Windows 11 setup for developer PCs, with coding tools and support for running AI models locally already built in.

It will ship on high-end machines from OEM partners, reducing the setup usually needed before developers can start working.

🍏 iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199

Apple has announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, starting at $1,199 and $1,299 respectively, both with 256GB of storage.

The lineup comes in Deep Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy, with sales starting September 18.

🎧 AirPods 5 add live translation

Apple has announced AirPods 5 with real-time translation, improved Active Noise Cancellation and up to 5 hours of listening with ANC enabled.

They’re priced at $129, with preorders open today and availability from September 18.

⚡️ Apple unveils iPhone Duo

Apple has introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, with a 7.6-inch inner display and 5.4-inch outer screen. Apple says it’s the thinnest iPhone yet and has the largest display ever used on an iPhone.

It comes in Star White and Night Sky, supports Split View multitasking, and uses Touch ID in the side button instead of Face ID. Apple Pencil support is coming later this year.

Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon has left the company, warning that the race to build self-improving AI could eventually push the technology beyond human control and pose an existential threat.
