⚡️ Telegram sues Australia

Telegram has filed a lawsuit → against Australia’s eSafety regulator in the Federal Court over the country’s new age-verification law.

Earlier this year, the regulator fined the company for allegedly failing to provide timely information on its policies for handling extremist and child-abuse content.

Telegram blocked more than half a million groups and channels in a single day — its highest figure since February 2025.

According to the report, 519,645 communities were removed on November 13 alone. For comparison, the previous record was set on February 5, when the platform took down 490,433 groups and channels.

Since the beginning of November, the total number of removed communities has reached 2.81 million, and nearly 34.9 million since the start of the year. More than 207,000 of them were linked to terrorist activity.
