Karen thinks we must wear a mask and be behind glass watching friends and family die and that my suggestion that we don't need to watch them like zoo animals at point of death is outrageous.

Makes me want to bury my head in the sand.

Normally I've have been banned from Twitter by this point.

Strange my account is lasting so long this time, I did far more "crime" previously to have accounts taken.
Bizarre world.

First we had a lock-step political reaction to a virus that was exceptionally disproportiate.

Second, we had MSM wholeheartedly buy into government narrative to the point of becoming a propaganda organ of the state.

Third, we had big tech censor/deplatform/throttle LAWFUL online media/conversations to bolster the propaganda.

Fourth, a massive Internet cult, larger than Q Anon, grew up around the virus mythology. A cult that provides support of disproportionate government action, censorship, and propaganda. A cult that supports loss of free speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of press, freedom of enterprise and so forth.

A cult that believes people should die alone for "safety", that a relatively benign virus is like Ebola, that people should wear cloth on their faces. All kinds of rubbish.
ROFLMAO. SARS-CoV-2 is not even remotely "highly contagious". It's mildly above influenza (seasonal variations), around same as the common cold!

Highly contagious are measles, chickenpox, mumps, and pretty very contagious are rubella, polio, small pox.

With SARS-CoV-2 you really need 15-30 mins indoor contact to spread it and even then ~half the population is not susceptible.
I ran into this again from y/day. How can a doctor believe that such a loosely fitted set of men's boxers on her face is protecting something?

Besides AFAIC, it's absolutely unethical to mitigate amongst those who are not vulnerable, so if it did work, it would be deeply unethical! The non-vulnerable should gain full spectrum naturally acquired immunity, in order to better protect not only themselves, but the vulnerable.

Upside down ethics and ideas at every turn. Everything has become like living in Alice in Wonderland.

Sunetra Gupta (Prof. Epidemiology, Oxford) -

"just how the deaths and cases are reported, every time there’s a slight uptick in cases, it becomes headlines. No one’s talking about the deaths going down, which they, at the moment, we’re in a very good position. So there’s just been a willful distortion of just the basic data. And then when we talk about deaths, here the deaths are counted as anyone who’s died within 28 days of having a positive coronavirus test. But even that is not good enough. The media will say, well, actually it could be a lot higher - which is fine, of course it could be. Who knows? But they never say, oh, it could be also a lot lower. So there’s absolutely no balance whatsoever. And as someone who has been personally attacked by the media and whose views have been misrepresented, I feel… I mean, I’m astonished. I cannot understand how the fourth estate, which is such a valuable part of any democracy could have participated in this way, in this tragedy."
Strange times indeed.
Viral shedding is something I'm curious about.

"Multifaceted highly targeted sequential multidrug treatment of early
ambulatory high-risk SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID-19)" interesting paper on early treatment of COVID19 to reduce mortality e.g. zinc.
From that paper I just shared... Same nutraceutical bundle I bought 12 months ago! Surprised nothing has changed.
Public health officials and vaccine makers acknowledge that the products have not been shown to prevent disease transmission. Measures such as masking and social distancing are not supported by randomized controlled trials. In any event, they have not ended the pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its guidance on disinfecting surfaces. It states that while it is “possible” for a person to become infected with COVID-19 through contact with contaminated surfaces or objects (fomites), “the risk is generally considered to be low,” less than 1 in 10,000. Thus, there is “little scientific support for routine use of disinfectants in community settings, whether indoor or outdoor, to prevent SARS-CoV-2 transmission from fomites.”

“So why are we still deep cleaning?” asked the prestigious scientific journal Nature in January. By the end of 2020, global sales of surface disinfectant totaled $4.5 billion, a jump of more than 30% over the previous year.
