❗Висши иракски и американски служители планират да издадат изявление, призоваващо американските бойни войски да напуснат #Ирак до края на 2021 г., като финализира преминаването на американската военна мисия в Ирак към чисто консултативна роля.

👉 Преди седмица в Де Ре Милитари публикувахме информация, че се водят преговори за изтегляне на американските сили от Ирак.

Съобщава се, че длъжностните лица планират изявлението в понеделник след срещата на иракския премиер Мустафа ал Казими с президента Байдън в Белия дом. Според плана, който източници подчертават, че няма да представлява пълно изтегляне на американските сили от страната, редица американски военнослужещи ще останат в Ирак за неопределено време. Тези войски ще осигуряват логистична и консултантска подкрепа, както и въздушна мощ, разузнаване и способности за наблюдение в борбата срещу ИД, чиито сили са активни в Сирийската пустиня и около граничните райони с Ирак.

Вероятно целта на предстоящото изявление е да позволи на Казими да притъпи политическия натиск от хардлайнерите и шиитските фракции, подкрепени от Иран, които искат всички около 2500 американски войници в страната да се оттеглят.

Developing: Since July 15, protesters have taken to the streets in more than a dozen cities in southwestern #Iran's Khuzestan province - including the capital of Ahwaz - to protest water shortages. The province is facing a severe drought, exacerbated by poor environmental planning, corruption, and poor water management. The oil-rich province is home not only to 80 percent of the country's oil but also to the ethnic Arab minority, which has faced severe discrimination and neglect over the decades.
