The correct answer is option (d).

Explanation⬇️
The Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to the Convention on Biological Diversity is an international agreement, which aims to ensure the safe handling, transport and use of living modified organisms (LMOs) resulting from modern biotechnology that may have adverse effects on biological diversity, taking into account risks to human health. It was adopted on 29th January 2000 and entered into force on 11th September 2003.

The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants(POPs) is a global treaty to protect human health and the environment from chemicals that remain intact in the environment for long periods, become widely distributed geographically, accumulate in the fatty tissue of humans and wildlife, and have harmful impacts on human health or on the environment. The Stockholm Convention was adopted in 2001 and entered into force in 2004. It requires its parties to take measures to eliminate or reduce the release of POPs into the environment.

The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer is a global agreement to protect the Earth’s ozone layer by phasing out the chemicals that deplete it. This phase-out plan includes both the production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances. The landmark agreement was signed in 1987 and entered into force in 1989.

The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement linked to the UNFCCC, which commits its parties by setting internationally binding emission reduction targets. It was adopted in Kyoto, Japan in 1997 and entered into force in 2005. It recognized that developed countries are principally responsible for the current high levels of GHG emissions in the atmosphere as a result of more than 150 years of industrial activity. The detailed rules for the implementation of the Protocol were adopted at COP-7 in Marrakesh, in 2001 and are referred to as the Marrakesh Accords. Kyoto Protocol Phase-1 (2005-12) gave the target of cutting down emissions by 5%. Phase- 2 (2013-20) gave the target of reducing emissions by at least 18% by the industrialized countries.

Therefore, option (d) is the correct answer.

The correct answer is option (d) ibid.

Explanation⬇️
Ibid is the compact form of the Latin term “ibidem” which means “at the same place”. If a researcher is referencing the same source but a different page of the same work in a successive footnote, then ibid can be used.
