Time management and planning is the most crucial part of UPSC preparation.
I used to make a macro plan of what my long term plan would be ( in a broader sense, for example if it is 3 months of prelims), then sub divide into monthly and weekly targets. Then i used to plan my mocks and syllabus in that particular week and further into days.
Plan should be so micro at the end that you should know what you are going to do in the next 2 hours. I used to a make a daily plan before sleeping for the next day. This helped me in waking up on time and start my day with motivation.
This micro planning helps in building accountability and also gives you guilt if you don’t follow it. So helps in long term motivation and satisfaction.
Also keep breaks in between like time for exercise, talking with any friend, weekly outings to avoid burn out.
Last but not the least keep posting some motivational quotes, your positive affirmations on the wall facing you. It helps reinforcing your goal and motivation. 💪🏻
Keep working 😇
How to go in next 100 days for mains?

I hope everyone appearing for mains this time is now over with their break time after prelims.
Now it’s time to give ur best shot in these 100 days.. It will make all the difference 🌸
The next 100 days should be judiciously divided so that we focus equally on content addition, revising and attempting mocks.
Sharing my mains strategy. Everyone’s strategy varies.

1. Content Addition
⁃ Prepare content according to GS syllabus, start doing mains 365 and making relevant notes from it.
⁃ Add data, facts, examples, graphs etc in according to GS syllabus and PYQs
⁃ Start solving some PYQs
⁃ Revise from static books (like GS1 mostly from prelims books)
⁃ This content building should be done majorly in first 40-45 days along with attempting full length mocks. Though it continues till last moment still u should keep it at minimum in last 20 days and focus on revising.
2. Attempting Mocks
⁃ It should start within a week of starting mains preparation as we have to get in the groove of answer writing.
⁃ Analyse some topper copies and get idea of the pattern and structuring and start attempting.
⁃ Deposit mocks for checking and see where are you lacking and what needs to be improved.
⁃ Answer writing gets better when we start early and keep on improving. Do not focus on perfection, focus on improvement.
⁃ In total I attempted 3 FLT of Gs1,2,3 each , 5 of Gs4, 6 of Essay and 10 of Medical Science.
3. Revising
⁃ keep revising your content along with attempting mocks.
⁃ In last 30 days, keep making short notes out of your notes so as to keep your revision material manageable in last few days.
⁃ I revised Gs1- 2-3 times (relevant parts), mains 365 short notes revised 4-5 times, along with mocks it keep getting revised, GS4 content 5-6 times, my optional 3 times.
⁃ Keep separate pages for data facts, diagrams, quotes and Revise them in last days of mains.
Make a macro plan for 3 months then divide it effectively till you make a plan for tomorrow ❤️
Revision, Improving and time management is the key in UPSC.
All the best. keep working, it will be all worth it💪🏻🌸
My medical science strategy
Anat and physio test
- include as many diagrams as u can and also add 1-2 Applied/Clinical points in answers
Guys i am not allowed to share my mock test copies according to the rules of the Institute.
You can see them in topper copies of UPSC medicos.

For those who don’t have access,
I will also share some sample answers from each of subject as well as strategy.
Thankyou
Question on Hip joint - address each part with diagram, make colored diagrams, add applied anatomy in last..
You can make stick figures to show movements. This could be searched through google.
Anatomy - from BDC , practice diagrams
Physiology - AK jain, Upsc medicos, parikshit sir notes
Biochem - parikshit sir notes
Physio answer sample - make colored diagram, write good content, add some applied - like we can add Myasthenia gravis in NM junction question.
