This was decided 8 days ago btw. it will allow for detention centers outside the EU (like CEDOT) and will hold migrants and refugees at the border in camps ("border procedure facilities" in EU clean speak) until their papers are checked, we are probably going to see horrifying pictures in about 3 month.

This has been in the making for the last 3 years through the 'New Pact on Migration and Asylum' with the expansion and militarization of Frontex, that was already actively sinking boots on the Mediterranean Sea and giving off "warning shots" in Poland on the Polish-Belarussian border. This will give them the legal basis to take full control instead of being an additional part to "border security".

It will also limit family members joining their family in the EU as well as refugees and migrants going back home to visit. Migrants and refugees will also have to undergo health and security checks including bio-metric readings of faces, fingerprints and iris scans. Camps are being build in Greece, Italy, Malta, Spain, Croatia, Bulgaria and Cyprus, as well as the Frankfurt airport in Germany.
