Aaliyah would have turned 47 today. It seems as if everyone had a crush on her back then. Even a friend of mine who couldn't relate to her music at all. The picture above hung on the wall in my teenage bedroom for years. It was only years later that I realized she was lightyears ahead of her time. With the support of Missy Elliott and Timbaland, she simply created timeless R&B.

If Democrats had abolished ICE in 2021, Donald Trump wouldn't have an army with which to impose autocracy.
Centrists have been complicit in the rise of authoritarianism every step of the way.
ICE has only existed since March 2003, by the way.
