Billionaire Frank McCourt preparing bid for TikTok, aims to make app more transparent
Billionaire businessman and real estate mogul Frank McCourt said heโs putting together a consortium to purchase TikTokโs US business, adding to the number of investors hoping to benefit from a new federal law that requires TikTokโs China-based parent company to sell the popular platform or face a ban.
The announcement, posted late Tuesday on McCourtโs Project Liberty initiative, said the former owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers was organizing the bid in consultation with the investment bank Guggenheim Securities and โwith the goal of placing people and data empowerment at the center of the platformโs design and purpose.โ

President Biden is planning executive action that would allow him to shut down the US-Mexico border once the number of migrant crossings reaches 4,000 per day, a source close to the White House told The Post Wednesday.
The order would match a provision in the bipartisan border bill that failed to pass the Senate in February, which gave the president authority to expel migrants when border crossings reached the same daily average.
The legislative proposal would have given the Homeland Security secretary discretionary authority to carry out removals โ but would have made deportations mandatory when illegal entries surpassed 5,000 per day over a one-week period.
A federal government source confirmed to The Post that an executive order to limit entries was coming, though it was unclear when it would be announced.

A barge hit a bridge in Galveston, Texas, on Wednesday, spilling oil into surrounding waters and closing the only road to a small island, officials said.
A bridge that leads to Pelican Island, located just north of Galveston, was hit by a barge around 9:30 a.m., said Ronnie Varela, with the Galvestonโs Office of Emergency Management.
Varela did not have any immediate information on damage to the bridge or if there were any injuries.
Varela said the collision caused an oil spill and that crews were working to clean it up.
The Galveston County Sheriffโs Office told KTRK that a large piece of the bridge fell. Pictures broadcast by KTRK showed pieces of concrete on the barge.

Covid itself was what woke most of the world up. Covid was not what most people (even on our side) think it was โฆ
When H1N1 hits, IVM and HCQ will be able to be prescribed.
