OpenAI Introduces βOperatorβ
Today weβre releasing Operatorβ (opens in a new window), an agent that can go to the web to perform tasks for you. Using its own browser, it can look at a webpage and interact with it by typing, clicking, and scrolling.
To ensure a safe and iterative rollout, we are starting small. Starting today, Operator is available to Pro users in the U.S. at operator.chatgpt.comβ
Operator is powered by a new model called Computer-Using Agent (CUA). Combining GPT-4o's vision capabilities with advanced reasoning through reinforcement learning, CUA is trained to interact with graphical user interfaces (GUIs)βthe buttons, menus, and text fields people see on a screen.
Operator can βseeβ (through screenshots) and βinteractβ (using all the actions a mouse and keyboard allow) with a browser, enabling it to take action on the web without requiring custom API integrations.
To get started, simply describe the task youβd like done and Operator can handle the rest. Users can choose to take over control of the remote browser at any point, and Operator is trained to proactively ask the user to take over for tasks that require login, payment details, or when solving CAPTCHAs.

Still cannot comprehend why ~100% of AI replies choose to just summarize what theyβre replying to
Maybe adding a few generic messages they made to push, but not much else
Nearly always just summarizing
Presumably different AI bot writers are using different prompts,
But they ALL end up just summarizing what they reply to?
Tbf, some humans do only reply back to you some version of what youβve said before, without ever adding any new insights, just like the bots
Maybe some people love these kinds of replies
Strange af

You know what, this was also the exact same top reason to dislike Altman ever since his YC takeover
β Switched from YC being run by a guy who was constantly putting out controversial, industry-changing things in his blog
β¦To Altman, who blogged a bunch but shockingly, NEVER SAID A SINGLE ORIGINAL THING, EVER, ONLY REPEATING THE DOMINANT NARRATIVE
Just like the twitter reply spambotsβ¦
Always just repeating, and not repeating something that few know, repeating whatβs already widely-accepted
Not to mention that Altman is a self-admitted wordcel
All so strange

ChatGPT simulates style, but on surprisal stays silent
Since the dawn of time, anyone who writes well has always secretly kept around that 1 smart guy who always has latest NPC wordcel answers for everything.
Over the past year or so, though, many of us began to realize that we can replace that guy with GPT3 β and it works incredibly well.
T's test: Harder it is to get GPT3 to arrive to the same clearly-true central point of your article as you arrived at β no matter how many leading questions you throw at the AI β the better that writing is going to be.
For every complex problem, ChatGPT has an answer, that is clear, simple, and dead wrong.

Yes, just like human wordcels β zero grasp on concept of βtruthβ, βtryingβ, βknowingβ, βproofβ or "tryingβ, βunderstandingβ.
To them, it's all just words.
No grasp of the concept that their language model has not yet looked even looked at the right inputs, that are neccessary to consider before making whatever claim or determination is needed for the output text.
The language model canβt just be looking at the input words.
But, even once you get past the wordcel obstacle of not even realizing the LLM needs to look at more inputs, thereβs still a big problem.
OpenAI, Google, Deepmind, Musk, are all about to force upon the us the WRONG types of LLM inputs.
Want the truth? Sure, weβll hook your LLM up to the ministry of truth Factcheck Database we control. Problem solved. Trust the experts. β OpenAI
