(They drew the yellow part way too short here, historically β 2020 was cut short by extremely atypical macro disaster, with the yellow part being much longer in all other cycles β but right basic idea.)

π¨WTF?! LA County just admitted theyβve LOST CONTROL of their emergency alert system
You can even hear one going off in the room as the Emergency Management Director speaks
MILLIONS of people are getting erroneous alerts telling them to evacuate, even if theyβre 10+ miles from any fire or evacuation zone.
These people are wildly incompetent.

βRisk Managementβ = βSafetyismβ?
Saw a lot of guys get wrecked last year, when they switched from a backtestably-decent buy & hold until binance/billion or zero strategy,
to a βrisk managementβ strategy of dumping it all at the first pullback
β a major change in strategy, which none ever even bothered to consider historically-backtesting at all
Predictably, their whole portfolios ended up wrecked, as their new strategy ended up repeatedly dumping early 200x & 700xβs, which wouldβve easily saved their whole portfolio 10x over
Sound familiar?
Sure sounds like something the left has used a ton in the past few years
= Leftβs βsafetyismβ
Masks for your "safetyβ, even if really they make things worse
βVaccinesβ for your βsafetyβ, even if they make things worse
New laws in the name of βsafetyβ, even if they make everyone less safe
β They can just magically say that the intent of something is βsafetyβ,
and then all brains instantly switch off
Suddenly no one bothers to assess whether a supposed βsafetyβ measure increases βsafetyβ at all, or if decreases it
βHow dare you question this safety practice! Itβs got safety in the name!β
Do peopleβs brains totally turn off whenever something is done in the name of βrisk managementβ β in the same way that peopleβs brains turn off whenever something is done in the name of the leftβs βsafetyismβ?
Is what people often call risk management, e.g. dumping 100% upon the first pullback β not really risk-reducing at the portfolio level at all, and in fact clearly doing the opposite most of the time?
So-called βRisk Managementβ :: Leftβs βSafetyism"?
