Coingecko does have some kind of memecoin market charts
— But zero idea of what this actually represents, no explanation anywhere
More than likely extremely heavily-weighted toward the top few memecoins, i.e. in the “middle” of the crypto market in riskiness & market cap.
— Which can drastically differ from the new upcoming memecoins at the “bottom” of the market.
TBH though who cares about the middle. Top is safest. Bottom has biggest ROI potential. Midde is best at nothing.
Need a chart for that upcoming “bottom” of the meme market.
Maybe I’ll make that tonight, using the price data on all ~50k pumpfun coins ever launched that I’d made code to gather the other day.

(Though the drop in price for the bottom 90% of the memecoin market has been a bit more severe than the slight drop seen in the top 1% of the memecoin market which is tracked here)

So, $FLOOF, a memecoin by one of the most famous petfluencers on tiktok, with 19 million followers launched ~10 hours ago,
$FLOOF then pumped hard within a matter of hours to ~$20M
= ~50x up from the pumpfun deployment price
But then, another ferret coin, $LUCAS, appeared
Completely normal for derivative coins to appear whenever there’s a big success, but $LUCAS was a little different
$LUCAS’s dexscreener info linked to an old reddit post accusing the $FLOOF owner of starving a previous ferret, Lucas, to death, among other animal abuse
— And AFAIK looks like it’s basically BS, as are most things on reddit
But this was more than enough for the $LUCAS holders, who then took to the internet, fudding $FLOOF posts with “JUSTICE FOR LUCAS”
The ensuing panic then quickly crashed $FLOOF from ~$22M to $800k
= 97% loss within a matter of minutes
So that’s it?

Most surprising part IMO is that, after everyone figured out the panic was BS… the coin shot way back up,
with $FLOOF over $10M as of this writing
= up 12x from the bottom it was at, and rapidly nearing it’s previous high
