The Texas mom who stabbed her two children was allegedly suffering from "postpartum depression" when she tried to kill her kids.
Wow, shocker.
The husband of Holly Leeann Flores, 37, says he saw his wife take a candle into the children's room at 1 am.
He woke up later to hear his wife trying to use a lighter in the room.
The husband, Justin Hommel, says he found his wife lighting a candle and saw a kitchen knife on the dresser. When he tried to enter the room, his wife shut the door.
Hommel says the knife freaked him out, but he went back to sleep.
He later woke up to the children crying. When he knocked on the door, his wife attacked him with the knife.
A fight ensued, and the children, 3 years old and 10 months old, were later taken to the hospital.
While on the phone with police, Hommel could be heard asking his wife if the attack was a "postpartum thing."
Flores was charged with attempted murder.

The details of the story here are truly insane.
According to court documents, the husband was "freaked out" after she began lighting candles and sleeping with a knife on her dresser.
Flores, the mother, allegedly locked the husband out of the bedroom, but he woke up when he heard the children crying.
He knocked on the door at Flores st*bbed him IN THE HEAD with the knife.
The husband said he grabbed the knife and called 911.
Somehow Flores managed to get a knife again while he was calling for help and he had to wrestle it away from her again.
Police wrote in the affidavit that the husband had bite marks on his arm where Flores had apparently bitten him trying to get the knife back.
Furthermore, in court documents, the husband said heβd been worried about recent changes in her behavior so heβd started sleeping on the couch to be closer to the children.
The husband said Flores had carried a candle into the childrenβs bedroom a few hours before the st*bbing and he woke up around 1 or 2 a.m. and heard his wife trying to use a lighter.
When he went to check on her and the children, he saw Flores lighting the candle and noticed a kitchen knife on the dresser, he said.
The husband said the knife βfreaked him out,β the affidavit states, and he asked Flores what she was doing which was when she locked him out of the room.
Officers found a 3-year-old girl and 11-month-old boy screaming in the back bedroom.
They had injuries to their chest area and the little girl had also been st*bbed in the stomach.
