The two young men who received the harshest punishments from the Kangaroo Court Title IX process -- expulsion -- were precisely the initial two that Jane Doe said HERSELF she engaged in consensual sexual activity with! And "really liked" being with! Holy sh&t, what a shambles

The 737 MAX 8 in particular has a bad rap but what happened to FlyDubai 1073 should give every traveler confidence in these planes.
The Wall Street Journal reports the jet reached about Mach 0.96 in the dive, well past its maximum operating speed of Mach 0.82, then was hauled out at roughly 3g and still landed with a chunk of its rudder gone.
The thing people need to keep in mind is that while Boeing's engineers know the certified envelope and the safety margins, what they don't have is a full-scale flight test of a complete 737 Max flown until it breaks apart.
So the exact speed and duration at which this airplane would have become unrecoverable was always modeled and estimated, and no one really knows at what points the airframe just disintegrates. Boeing is not going to destroy a complete plane and sacrifice a test pilot in flight just to measure a number no airline will ever need.
All this to say that this is the safety factor doing its job.
Boeing can take a bow.

The UK government is using the cover of darkness to continue importing foreign men. They will all live off British taxpayers. Before long, they will all have multiple children.
Itβs being done on purpose.

JUST IN: Japan's 30-year bond yield has hit a RECORD 4.235%, as the BOJ says AI bond sales are pushing long-term rates higher.
That's the highest since Japan first sold 30-year bonds in 1999, and it only broke above 4% for the first time in May.
The record came as traders waited for Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's policy speech to parliament, per Reuters.
BOJ Deputy Governor Shinichi Uchida called AI "a big positive demand shock," but warned of a correction if AI profits don't follow.

Iβm slightly obsessed with the question of how weβre actually going to power the AI BUILDOUT.
Everyone wants vastly more compute. Nobody seems particularly interested in where the staggering amount of electricity, land and cooling for it is supposed to come from.
Then I came across what NetworkOcean is doing in San Francisco Bay.
Theyβve put a tiny 20 kW floating solar array on the water and are using it to power an Nvidia H100 aboard a support vessel.
Right now, itβs basically an experiment.
But their ambition is enormous: 1 MW next year, and eventually the ability to deploy a whole GW of floating solar every week!!
And I LOVE the idea behind this.
Instead of endlessly asking where we can squeeze the next generation of data centers onto land, what if we start building an entirely new class of AI infrastructure at sea?
Power on the surface. Compute alongside it. An ocean of cold water underneath.
I have no idea whether NetworkOcean will be the company that makes this work.
But this is exactly the kind of weird engineering experiment I want to see more of.

I can migrate my most-used GPT (going away in December) to a private "plugin." But the reason I created a GPT was for other people to use it.
GPTs are obviously obsolete, but I know they were a focus within companies & among educators for years. This isn't a great path for them.
