The missing American soldier in Jordan is believed dead, and the Pentagon has named him: Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York.
-The Pentagon says Rampersad is "believed to have been killed in action on July 17, 2026, during an enemy attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base," days after CENTCOM listed him as missing, with the incident under investigation
-He served with the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment out of Ansbach, Germany, the same air defense community as the two soldiers killed beside him: Sgt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii, and Pfc. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Texas
-All three were air defenders, killed by the ballistic missile their branch exists to stop, when the salvo beat the interceptors and found their housing units
-The war's total U.S. service member death toll now stands at 18
