A 21 year old and 20 year old, from LA and Miami, stole nearly a QUARTER BILLION DOLLARS from a single person last month, using good old fashioned social engineering:
1) Called as Google Support via spoofed number to compromise personal accounts
2) Called after as Gemini support claiming account is hacked
3) Social engineered victim into resetting 2FA and sending Gemini funds to compromised wallet
4) Got victim to use AnyDesk to share screen and leaked private keys from Bitcoin core.
Video above shows their reactions at the moment of the theft.
The morons left numerous recordings, leaked real names many times, screwed up incredibly badly in their thievery countless times.
Complete morons using good old fashioned social engineering.

Dumbest sloppiest thieves ever.
Unfortunately, this crypto wave seems to have lead to a huge increase in these very dumb, very lazy, very sloppy thieves.
All of them super dumb either script-kiddies or social engineerers.
Personally dealth with at least 6 such would-be thieves this year.
