Japanese retail investors are increasingly betting against the US Dollar:

Net dollar short positions held by Japanese retail traders are up to $17.2 billion, the highest since records began in 2008.

This figure has more than quadrupled from month-over-month.

The surge reflects growing expectations that Japanese authorities will continue supporting the Yen through intervention, encouraging retail traders to position for a weaker US Dollar.

This comes after the Ministry of Japan spent ~$73.6 billion to support the Yen between April 28th and May 27th, with the Yen still falling more than 4% from its May high.

Retail investors in Japan believe the US Dollar rally is nearing its end.
