BREAKING: NetApp’s Indian-Born CEO George Kurian Lays Off Hundreds of American Workers While Company Relies on H-1B Visas and Holds U.S. Government Contracts

NetApp CEO George Kurian β€” born in Kerala, India β€” is facing fierce backlash after the data storage giant laid off approximately 700 American employees (roughly 6% of its workforce) in recent restructuring moves, citing efficiency and market conditions.

Hundreds of U.S. families are now without primary income and employer-provided healthcare.

Meanwhile, NetApp continues to sponsor large numbers of H-1B visas β€” predominantly for Indian workers β€” and maintains significant U.S. government and defense-related contracts for data infrastructure.

Critics say this is another example of American tech workers being replaced by foreign labor on temporary visas while companies profit from taxpayer-funded deals.

Rest in peace, Jayden Adams.

The South Africa and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams has died at just 25 β€” only weeks after living his dream on the world's biggest stage.

Adams was considered one of South Africa's brightest young stars β€” a kid from Stellenbosch who worked his way into the national setup and earned his place on football's grandest stage this summer, playing three matches as South Africa made their deepest-ever run at the tournament.

No cause of death has been shared.

BREAKING: US-listed ETF assets under management (AUM) are up to a record $15.6 trillion.

AUM in US-listed ETFs has doubled over the last 30 months.

Investors have allocated more than +$1 trillion to these funds year-to-date, nearly doubling the previous record for the same period, set in 2025.

This puts the industry on track to exceed +$2 trillion in annual inflows for the first time in history, 33% above last year's all-time high.

In June alone, ETFs attracted +$193 billion, the 2nd-largest monthly inflow on record.

This was particularly driven by demand for US mega-caps, semiconductor, AI, and South Korea-related funds.

The US ETF boom is accelerating.

Do you know in 2014, Ukraine needed a loan?

There were two offers on the table:

The IMF dangled $15 billion, but with strings attached:

-Scrap the ban on private land ownership.

-Slash pensions and subsidies,classic austerity.

Russia also offered $15 billion,no strings, no neoliberal gutting of the economy.

President Viktor Yanukovych picked the Russian deal.

So what happened?

Washington instigated a coup, ousted him, and installed a new puppet regime.

The new government bent the knee to the IMF, signed off on austerity program and opened the door to privatization.

Now, massive chunks of Ukrainian land, about a third, are in the hands of foreign giants like BlackRock.

And just for the record, BlackRock is the former employer of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Coincidence?

FBI chief Kash Patel pulled back to the White House

He'd planned a weekend in Chicago to see his girlfriend, then dropped it fast after senior Trump officials called him in.

No word on why, but the mood is bad. Some were annoyed he'd even leave D.C. with the Iran fight heating up and reported threats against Trump going around.

And it's not the first time. His allies have reportedly stepped in more than once lately to help fix his standing with the White House.

When your own side keeps stepping in to save you, the job is already on shaky ground.
