AI millionaires are rewriting the luxury playbook, swapping watches and yachts for space rocks, smartwatches, and pro sports teams

The US minted 440k new millionaires last year

One SpaceX millionaire is simply buying "silly" things like $10k worth of meteorites, a $5k fire truck, and the $8k TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 SpaceX Chronograph watch in the $8,000 range, inspired by astronaut John Glenn

The AI arms race is driving record Big Tech borrowing:

Amazon $AMZN, Alphabet $GOOGL, Nvidia $NVDA, Meta $META, Oracle $ORCL, and SpaceX, $SPCX, have issued a record $182 billion in investment-grade bonds so far in 2026.

This marks a +1,300% increase from ~$13 billion over the same period in 2025.

As a result, these 6 firms account for nearly 15% of total US corporate bond issuance year-to-date and over 50% of this year's growth in corporate bond issuance.

Meanwhile, a record 7 bond deals of $25 billion or more have taken place during this period, matching the total number of deals seen between 2019 and 2025.

6 of the 7 deals came from these 6 companies, with the remaining one coming from Salesforce, $CRM.

AI capital needs are reshaping the corporate bond market.

Britain doesn’t officially recognise polygamous marriages.

But it will happily pay for them.

This man has 3 wives and 11 children.

No job.

The wives live as one β€œfamily” socially and religiously, yet legally the additional wives are treated as single mothers for benefits purposes.

And the result is multiple housing claims, child benefit for every child, and universal credit top ups.

The more wives and kids, the bigger the payout.

Meanwhile the British taxpayer gets the bill.

This is a good example of welfare arbitrage.

The state refuses to recognise the marriage on paper, then subsidises the exact same arrangement with public money.

Incentives matter, and the system rewards having as many wives and children as possible, as long as you don’t work.

1 man. 3 wives. 11 kids. 0 contribution.

Guess who’s paying?

Incentives aren’t complicated.

We just ignore what ours are actually doing.

We tax speeders to stop speeding and cigarettes to stop smoking, yet we tax people who work and companies that make profits and subsidize those who don’t.

Then we act shocked when we get less work, less employment, fewer successful businesses, and more and more people on welfare.

β€Ό IPHONE-HOLICS

German MPs get on average 2.6 iPhones per year, paid for by the taxpayer.

43.5% of the iPhone purchases are made shortly before Christmas.

β†’ Could it be that German politicians get free iPhones for their friends and family … and the taxpayer funds this?

Or do they really need a new iPhone every 5 months?
