THIS MAN THREW AWAY 8,000 BITCOIN.

In 2013, Welsh IT engineer James Howells mistakenly threw away a hard drive containing the private keys to 8,000 $BTC he had mined years earlier.

By the time he realized what had happened, the hard drive was already buried in the Docksway landfill in Newport, Wales.

For the next 12 years, he tried everything to get it back.

He offered the local council millions of pounds, proposed sharing the recovered Bitcoin with the city, hired excavation experts, and even offered to buy the entire landfill.

The council rejected every proposal, citing environmental risks and arguing that anything dumped in the landfill legally belonged to them.

In 2025, Howells lost his latest court case and has since largely given up.

Today, those 8,000 Bitcoin would be worth $500 million.

And they remain buried somewhere beneath the landfill.

One hard drive. One mistake. One of the most expensive losses in Bitcoin history.

An absolute miracle in Pensacola, FL to share.

Ethan Preseau is a 28 yr old Navy veteran who was declared brain dead after doctors said his thalamus was completely black in an MRI.

His family had no hope left. The funeral was planned. He was set for organ donation. Then he woke up. Doctors and nurses call it a totally unexplainable miracle.

He’s now responding to commands and will move to a specialty rehab facility for traumatic brain injuries.

Ethan’s favorite holiday is the 4th of July and this year he gets to celebrate it alive when his family thought they’d be burying him.

God is so good. Doctors don’t have the final say. Never lose faith and never stop praying.

Pray for Ethan’s recovery. It’ll be a long road but he’s a fighter. Here’s his recovery gofundme:

Pope Leo visited Lampedusa today to highlight the humanitarian crisis for the migrants arriving there.

He prayed for the migrants who have died at sea, called for compassion, safe harbors and legal pathways for migrants.

He laid a wreath at a migrant cemetery, visited the β€œGateway to Europe” monument, met migrant families and thanked the Lampedusans for being good Samaritans.

Tens of thousands illegal migrants have arrived in Europe via Lampedusa in the past few years.

Full-time jobs in the US are falling at a concerning rate:

Full-time employment dropped -514,000 in June, to 133.66 million, the lowest since December 2024.

This marks the 3rd consecutive monthly decline, totaling -1.01 million.

Since January 2025, full-time employment has now fallen -2.24 million

This also brings full-time employment back to levels seen in Q1 2023.

Meanwhile, the full-time employment-to-population ratio, which measures the proportion of the population working full-time, is down to 48.5%, from 50.5% in 2022, the lowest since mid-2021.

The weakness in the US labor market is accelerating.
